So grateful to have had the experience of giving a TEDx talk. It may have been the coolest 8 minutes of my life. I'm really happy with how this turned out, and excited to share more of these stories down the road.

Thanks for giving it a watch. I love you! Really... I do.

The fear and reservation surrounding marriage is very real and very present. I know it’s there, because I often experience it myself.

I believe fear is the primary factor that keeps us from getting married. Meanwhile, our the news hassle us, parents beg us for grandbabies, and peers urge us to just get out there and meet someone as if finding 21st century love was as easy as going to the grocery store to pick up a bottle of coconut water.

Their loving encouragement does nothing to assuage our very valid fears. Sometimes it makes it even worse, if I’m going to be honest.

Where do these fears come from? I believe most of them can be traced back to one source…

Lack of preparation.
My name is Nate, and I’m a millennial… oh, and I’m also super single. But here’s the deal, I’m not running away from marriage. I’ve actually spent the last 3 years researching, studying and preparing for it! I’ve talked to hundreds of happily married couples about what goes into creating amazing, lasting, passionate, connected love....

You gain value as you weather the hardships of life. Every time you chip, break, and shatter, then go through the process of healing and overcoming, is proof of your value.

It is through your trials, your imperfections, and your flaws that you gain your most valuable virtues.
For The Broken. Kintsukuroi is the art of repairing broken pottery with a lacquer resin. Its earliest origins can be traced back to 15th century China when an officer in the military sent back a tea bowl for repairs. It was returned to him, patched up and completely usable.

I just recently moved to Salt Lake, and needed some work done on my Mini Cooper. When I brought my car in, I told them that my breaks were squeaking, and that my car was having a hard time starting (I had replaced the battery less than a month earlier). They called me the next day and informed me that, after checking things out, I needed to replace my breaks and rotors, and that my new battery had a bad cell. They said they could take care of the breaks, rotors and battery that day. My total would be close to $1,300. I tried to explain that my current battery was under warranty, and I could probably get it replaced for free. Their salesman tried to push me to buy theirs for over $300 because it had a "better warranty." I was obviously a little uneasy dropping that kind of cash on what I assumed should be a relatively routine repair. I called the Mini Cooper dealership in town, and they informed me that they could take care of it for less than half of what I had been quoted by Steve's Auto Specialists. At the end of the day, they charged me over $180 for "inspections" ($90 to perform an inspection on my battery that took less than 2 minutes at Auto Zone, and another $90 to take a look at my breaks) so they could tell me what I had initially told them when I brought my car in... my breaks needed to be replaced, and my battery was bad. It seems to me like this is not the kind of business who puts their customers first. I felt very cheated and scammed.

Pizza is delicious. Really, it is. Especially when it's big. Slab Pizza is both delicious and big... and it's priced just right. You should taste it. Really. Do it. Now. Try the Buffalo Chicken or the Thai Peanut Chicken. Both are good. I'm going to go back soon. See you there.

If you've ever had GOOD sushi before, you'll immediately recognize the terribleness of the rolls at Asuka. Our table was dirty. Our rolls were lukewarm, bland and soaked in nasty mayo. With the cheapest sushi in the Valley, I can honestly say you get what you pay for. Cheap, low quality sushi.
