Let me be clear, John Gottman has discovered a LOT of interesting things in his 40+ years of research.

He’s the guy who can watch a couple argue for 5 minutes and predict with a 93% accuracy whether or not they’ll get divorced.

He’s discovered that 69% of all relationship conflict is unresolvable. They are the perpetual problems that need constant management and never have a perfect resolution. Ie: He likes Mexican food, she doesn’t. Or, how your in-laws meddle and wan to influence how you raise your kids. (You can read more about how to deal with these types of problems here.)

He’s written books on emotional intelligence, betrayal, effective communication strategies, and even how to adjust your relationship after having babies.

Yet the thing that has surprised him most is the abundance – and importance – of kindness and compassion in truly remarkable relationships.
Never in a million years would I have guessed when I started The Loveumentary back in 2012 that I would one day be sitting down in a hotel room with arguably the world’s foremost experts, and most celebrated researchers on the topic of romantic love – John and Julie Gottman. I’m constantly amazed that this little...

It's really beautiful. That's one thing about the valleys of Utah, when the clouds do come, they put on a good show.

So grateful to have had the experience of giving a TEDx talk. It may have been the coolest 8 minutes of my life. I'm really happy with how this turned out, and excited to share more of these stories down the road.

Thanks for giving it a watch. I love you! Really... I do.

I just recently moved to Salt Lake, and needed some work done on my Mini Cooper. When I brought my car in, I told them that my breaks were squeaking, and that my car was having a hard time starting (I had replaced the battery less than a month earlier). They called me the next day and informed me that, after checking things out, I needed to replace my breaks and rotors, and that my new battery had a bad cell. They said they could take care of the breaks, rotors and battery that day. My total would be close to $1,300. I tried to explain that my current battery was under warranty, and I could probably get it replaced for free. Their salesman tried to push me to buy theirs for over $300 because it had a "better warranty." I was obviously a little uneasy dropping that kind of cash on what I assumed should be a relatively routine repair. I called the Mini Cooper dealership in town, and they informed me that they could take care of it for less than half of what I had been quoted by Steve's Auto Specialists. At the end of the day, they charged me over $180 for "inspections" ($90 to perform an inspection on my battery that took less than 2 minutes at Auto Zone, and another $90 to take a look at my breaks) so they could tell me what I had initially told them when I brought my car in... my breaks needed to be replaced, and my battery was bad. It seems to me like this is not the kind of business who puts their customers first. I felt very cheated and scammed.

Pizza is delicious. Really, it is. Especially when it's big. Slab Pizza is both delicious and big... and it's priced just right. You should taste it. Really. Do it. Now. Try the Buffalo Chicken or the Thai Peanut Chicken. Both are good. I'm going to go back soon. See you there.

If you've ever had GOOD sushi before, you'll immediately recognize the terribleness of the rolls at Asuka. Our table was dirty. Our rolls were lukewarm, bland and soaked in nasty mayo. With the cheapest sushi in the Valley, I can honestly say you get what you pay for. Cheap, low quality sushi.
