Off to join the crew of Turkish Painting Holidays in Gokcebel, ‪Bodrum‬. Told them I have never painted before and they said beginners welcome. Not sure they know what they have let themselves in for! :)

Now maybe I am a travel snob because there is nothing majorly wrong with Avanos but frankly there are only two reasons to visit.

1 :Pottery workshops
2: A Freakish hair museum!

#turkey #travel
Avanos in Cappadocia, Turkey has 2 reasons for you to visit. Pottery workshops & demonstrations and a strange hair museum by Chez Galip. The town sits by the Red River

A visit to see the old abandoned village and cave churches of Soganli Valley in Cappadocia

http://turkishtravelblog.com/soganli-valley-cappadocia-turkey-churches-village/
I was not expecting much from Soganli Valley. In guidebooks, the likes of Ihlara or Pigeon Valley overshadow its presence. Yet, I was pleasantly surprised. Sitting off the beaten path in the Cappadocia region, the pigeon houses carved into the rock fairy chimneys, and ancient cave churches promoted a surreal appearance but I was mostly …

I am glad I changed my mind and decided to visit Ortahisar in the Cappadocia region of Turkey            #cappadocia #travel
Ortahisar is a small working town in the Cappadocia area of Turkey. It is famous for the Castle, which is the "tallest fairy chimney" but there are many other reasons to visit.

Call me crazy if you want but I felt some kind of spiritual presence at Keslik Monastery     #turkey #churches
Keslik Monastery is a small collection of churches and living quarters in the Cemilkoy district of Cappadocia. It is marvelous intact and shows a brilliant collection of ancient frescoes

Laodicea was the only one of the Seven Churches of Revelation that didn’t receive a message of compliment from Saint John. Accusing them of sitting on the fence, and not dedicating themselves 100% to Christianity, they would in later years become hard-core advocates of the religion. The ruins are located in the Aegean region of Turkey.

I have used this company for private tours in Pamukkale and Cappadocia. Top notch service on both occasions. It was great to have my own guide and driver. We were also able to deviate from the itinerary if I wanted to see something at the last minute. Perfect days out and would use them again

I stayed here in May for 2 nights and was very sorry to leave. It is a luxury boutique hotel with five rooms and the owners aim is to make people feel like it is their home! He has certainly achieved this. The staff are friendly, informative and chatty. Breakfast is a full range of traditional Turkish items and the cheese omelets are to die for. The beds make you feel like you don't want to get out because they are so comfty. Whenever I return to Cappadocia, this will be the hotel that I choose.
