Photo of the Day: In San Bartolomé de Pinares, Spain, residents celebrate the eve of St. Anthony's Day with the Luminarias Festival—a tradition townspeople say dates at least 500 years. While some animal rights groups say the practice is cruel, the city government claims that no horse has ever suffered injury. #Photography

- Just because an animal has never been injured does not mean this practice is not cruel, unnecessary and totally senseless. Both this and the totally sickening brutality of bullfighting should be banned in today's world where society has moved on from religious BS and ridiculous traditions that should never take precedence over animal welfare and simple respect for another living, feeling and innocent being. We are better than this. Spain should be ashamed. AGAIN.1w

- Traditions.. they are like religion for cultures: no one ever stops to consider why they are doing it and when you ask about it there's no end to the STUPID people will come up with.
Human 'intelligence' is HIGHLY overrated, obviously. That a very few of you pesky bi-ped monkies manage to work out how to use their brain means jack shit if the rest is so willingly ignorant as fuck.
gah.. humans.. SO disappointing...1w
- That is very cruel! The fire can burn his eyes, singe his mane etc and burn his tail for sure. I don't believe they haven't been burned.1w
