New abstract photograph from Cannes, France. Like most of my abstract photographs, this is printed on canvas and overpainted by hand using clear acrylic gels and texturing mediums. This results in one-of-a-kind Limited Originals that resemble paintings. Available for purchase in any size... but this one looks best when produced at very large sizes!

Dreaming of springtime? If you're in the northern hemisphere (as we are) you may be feeling the cold of winter these days ... so we've put together a special collection of images with a spring/summer theme, featuring a palette of colors and textures to inspire you to look forward to the warmer days ahead. Enjoy! http://www.natcoalson.com/dreaming-spring

Thanks for the invitation to the group... happy to be here!

I made this image in Bordighera, Italy, during a photo tour I led last October. It's titled "Arancia Rossa Bianca" ("Orange Red White" in Italian) and is used on the cover of my latest book, which features over 150 abstract photographs produced during a period of over nine years.

I made this photograph shooting handheld with a Canon 5D MkII and 28-135 IS lens. Most of my abstract work is captured handheld so I always use  image stabilization. In some cases, when I find a photo I want to make and can't get the depth of field or shutter speed I want, I will set up the tripod after making some test shots handheld.

Shares, comments and +1 always appreciated. I look forward to participating in this community!
