I should really update this post with the new unit testing support in Android Studio. This still works, but that way is easier.

I am leaving this message as a //TODO for myself in the future :)

Absolute truth

I think I kind of left aside posting here (and everywhere else) since I've been freelancing.

I finally get all those people talking about how they don't have time for anything... because it is true.

I hope to get back on track soon - or die trying!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share my newest apps: Speed Camera Alerts for United Kingdom, Australia & New Zealand and Spain.

UK: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.nlopez.speedcam.uk

Spain: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.nlopez.speedcam.spain

Australia & New Zealand: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.nlopez.speedcam.aunz

They use a minimalist UI and are specially polished to be as useful as possible.

You can use them on background while using your favorite navigator (like Google Maps, TomTom or Garmin) and still be notified on-screen and with voice messages using TTS.

They also feature Pebble notifications and Android Wear optimizations for being able to receive the info in your wrist.

I hope you like it! And if you can avoid a nasty speeding ticket thanks to it, much better :)

This. would. be. fucking. awesome.
Redesign to the android notification area. Huge thanks to anyone that hits the +1 or shares this! Make sure to click it to see it full size!

The current notification system in android isn't necessarily broken, but to me, the look is dated. To change this I got rid of the beveled rectangles and went with a thin line dividing notifications. The square has been replaced with a circle similar to google plus notifications.

The two finger pull down to reveal more info has been replace with a slide to the right to reveal actions you can take on any given notification as well as reveal more information about that notification ie. multiple emails. Some might have a few options some might just have a simple "Reply" option.

I've removed the entire quick settings panel in favour of a simple top row of icons that you tap to turn system functions off or on. (you can get this on your phone right now with the app Power Toggles)

I think its a good blend of the current android notification system with some features from the new ios 8 lock screen notifications too. Let me know what you think.
