U.S. America has been directed into a pornography of violence against the interests of its people and to the detriment of the entire world. The way back from this precipice of perpetual war is the opportunity to intervene in our schools, while they are still public, and tell our youth to think carefully before supporting the military with their lives just to have an education and a job. There are other paths. Do you know a young person that is thinking of joining? Send this address to their smart phone at http://winningthepeace.org

National Leafleting Inaugurates for International Week of Action Against the Militarisation of Youth

Winning the Peace is a national leafleting campaign.

In cooperation with War Resisters' League and the Project on Youth and Non-military Opportunities, The National Network Opposing the Militarization of Youth inaugurates the first national youth intervention against school militarization and military recruitment in U.S. National public schools to be offered for smartphones and mobile devices. Winning the Peace begins as a national intervention in our high schools as part of the Week of Actions Against the Militarisation of Youth, a third year project of War Resisters' International (WRI).

March2success may end up being the March2thenextwar for some students that get recruited into the military by way of this career testing scheme of the Pentagon. The machine for war planning never sleeps.

Increasingly, counter-recruitment activists that had been permitted access to table inside high schools, are now being turned away. We are likely heading into a time of escalating war against Syria. We should now consider pamphleting youth outside their public schools to ask them not to serve in wars they will be recruited into. http://nnomy.org/index.php/counter-recruitment/for-activists/for-counter-recruiters

It just takes 15 minutes. Contact your congressperson or senator and tell them you are tired of the wasteful corruption of our wars. Tell them to vote to end wars or you will vote to end their representation. http://www.contactingthecongress.org/  Below is a sample letter that you can send to make the process of contacting your representative simpler, or write your own, but please let them know that you are tired of endless war.

Concerned over wars and defense spending

Dear representative _____________,

My message to you is quite simple; I am tired of the waste and destruction that our wars are creating. Americans need leadership that can provide real security that comes from social investment and not billions feeding into a wasteful militarized economy that puts no realistic limits on defense spending. I am also concerned about an increasing presence of military recruiters in our public schools directing our youth into unnecessary conflicts.
Please be advised that I stand for government representatives that are getting the message that, increasingly, Americans are tired of paying for wars that they see are not making us safer, but are creating more violence and terrorism that threatens us all.

Sincerely

The National Network Opposing the Militarization of Youth assists those who organize in public schools to help our youth question violence and war. Counter-recruiters balance the message of military recruiters in our public schools where minors are recruited and subjected to multiple programs of the Department of Defense. Making a financial contribution supports NNOMY's national demilitarization work with activist organizations inside middle and high schools nationwide
