Is it passing in front or in back of us?

How many hours/days ahead (or behind) would we need to be for it to actually hit us?? (follow-up: where would it then hit?)
 
Nice i just seen this in time to set the DVR for it.
 
Were in an economic depression, so money is tight.
There is no money currently available to save the planet Earth.
 
NASA will hold a media teleconference at 12  noon to discuss whether Congress will be PASSING ANY LEGISLATION THIS YEAR BECAUSE THEY DIDN"T DO JAKE LAST SESSION!  Maybe we should just shorten the legislative season and send them home and pay them what they seem to be worth.
 
Congress won't act unless the asteroid is heading straight for them.
 
+Raymond Andrews I think what you mean to say is that it's travelling at a steep angle with respect to the plane of the ecliptic. I found the way you phrased to be a little confusing, and first interpreted it to mean that you were saying it would pass further away than our distance from the sun. (Which is of course wildly inaccurate, as it'll actually pass inside geosynchronous orbit!) I had to re-read it to see that you were't actually saying that... :)

+Brian Griffin Don't worry bro, We won't have to be saved from an Asteroid that won't hit us. x'D.  Besides, in the situation where the planet was actually in Peril do you think something like the economy, something that would be irrelevant after such a destruction, would prevent our action? 
 
estou de pleno acordo com o meu amigo ai temos que apoiar anasa a salvar o nosso planeta pois temos que procurar outros mundo an tes que seja tarde  a proposito como pode um asteroide que vai passar entre a lua e a terra nao ter nenhuma curvatura na sua orbita em relaçao ao planeta terra acho que tem que a gravidade existe e e real gostaria que a nasa me esplicase melhor isto .

First reported to BBC as 20k miles to 21k now suddenly 17k ..what made it track close I wonder...
