Your "this almost made me throw up" post (hopefully of the week) is this brutally designed reshare.

North Carolina evangelical preacher Sean Harris, in a ranting, fuming sermon, told parents in his congregation to use violence to physically beat children for showing any perceived signs of LGBT inclinations or urges on Sunday, according to LGBT rights blog “Good As You.”

Can I make it any clearer? Dads, the second you see your son dropping the limp wrist, you walk over there and crack that wrist. Man up. Give him a good punch. Ok? You are not going to act like that. You were made by God to be a male and you are going to be a male. And when your daughter starts acting to Butch you reign her in. And you say, “Oh, no, sweetheart. You can play sports. Play them to the glory of God. But sometimes you are going to act like a girl and walk like a girl and talk like a girl and smell like a girl and that means you are going to be beautiful. You are going to be attractive. You are going to dress yourself up.” You say, “Can I take charge like that as a parent?” Yeah, you can. You are authorized. I just gave you a special dispensation this morning to do that."

O_O What on earth is that. Where is the love for your children? I swear some people...

As a Christian, I'd like to say that hell no am I going to be beating my children.

Thank goodness that the child abuse laws will get their kids taken away and placed in foster care if they actually follow his advice...or not, if our social services system is in charge of it.

Yeah, that's where I was heading in my head, +Sheila Nagig. If this philosophy takes off, I fear for the generations after us.

Errrr, fear more for the generations after us, even.

I hope his God takes every beating of every abused child and delivers it in person (and following the law of x3) to him on arrival at the pearly gates, then sends him to hell for the real fun to start.

Well, it does say in the Bible that people in his position are judged more harshly - because they are supposed to be teaching about God, God's character & stuff. But I don't know about God actually beating him specifically... that doesn't sound like God's style...

Are we speaking Old Testament, or New Testament style? Though, I believe you're correct, he wasn't so much into whips, but I'm pretty sure I could argue a solid case for him being a Domme.

i dont care if it's old, new or whatever, it sounds like child abuse to me.

I don't disagree, +Boudica Foster. He was referring, I believe, to God punishing the pastor for spreading child abuse.

Yeah, I was. & New Testament (NT), btw.

I wouldn't have liked to have seen what he brought upon himself in the Old Testament times. As it's possible the judgement would have been tangible.

But, you know - NT & Jesus... I'm sure you all know the way it works. Although, since he's a pastor / minister he'll be judged on this as well - because of his role.

*sigh* Doesn't matter how much God loves us, or how much we think we know... peoples are still so stupid.

"Faith without works is dead."

If you walk/talk like a person advocating beating children, but dress up like a pastor, you're the equivalent of a wolf in sheep's clothing. I don't think his 'job' will absolve him of a fiery end.

Oh, I wasn't saying his job would absolve him, I was saying it'll bring judgement over & above the "has a real relationship with Jesus" thing.

And your right about the wolf thing. Let's just hope that his congregation are a little more discerning with their adoption of his stance.

that's a whole lot of hope, friend.
you might have more faith in people than I do ;)

:) Is that a feat? I'll just assume yes, until you dispel my hope in you about your hope in people :D

You know what's awesome, +Mark Drysdale? You're still funny, days after the fact. <3 <3 <3

I owe Paul a pie or something.

Well I have some ...
less for the fervently religious than for others, tho... ;)

They seem to be the ones stirring the pot, imo, more often than not.

(thanks!)
I think he likes Pie. Who doesn't like Pie?!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I think we've finally got to the root of the problem. This dude from the story didn't. have. pie.

+50 internets for that!

+Mellie B, interesting isn't it. Largely I'd agree, for people with something their life is for, are more motivated. (This can obviously be good & bad)

But I personally find that some people who profess to be without religion, or evolutionists etc often are the ones that start things. Now, this is limited to my experience & my physical non-google-circles, but the people I'm thinking of post questions to illicit an expected response, and then go to town on how wrong I am & try to ... Actually, I don't know what they're trying to do. Feel superior, justify their standpoint?

Anyway, suffice to say, they stir the pot I live in.

... true story :D

You've been a great crowd.. lol. Thanks for listening :)
(Try the veil)

oh there are assbags in both camps, to be sure ;)

it's the fervent on either side that are troublemakers.

The ones that live and let live are the ones to whom the largest portion of my faith in humanity goes, regardless of religious inclination ;) (or lack thereof)

Seriously. This is not as unusual as one could hope for.

I cannot watch this here at work, will watch later but I can already feel a rage coming..

I meant the story. I'm just getting up for work.

I'm happy I didn't watch the video. I don't need that kind of anger. ;)

All I know is, I look at my boy, and the thought of someone "beating him into a man" gets me all homicidal.

you touch my kid, you die

+Mellie B Fully agree! And I'd fly to Canada to help because there is no limit to my wrath when it comes to this kind of crap!

Oh my. Fartkards united... you'd think they'd just move to their own little planet and leave the rest of us hoomans to live our lives as need be.
