Tip of the Week: create an alert to monitor error pages (404)
Posted by +Daniel Waisberg

There is probably nothing more frustrating on the web than browsing a website and getting a 404 page. There are many techniques to reduce the pain by creating funny and creative 404 pages; but the best technique is still to avoid serving them to users.

In order to make sure you will be the first to know when a link is broken, you can create an alert on Google Analytics to tell you when 404s raise above a certain threshold. Here is how:

1. Login to Google Analytics
2. Click on "Admin" on the top-left navigation (orange bar)
3. Click on the profile you want to create the alert
4. Create a Goal using the 404 URL
5. Click on "Custom Alerts" and create a new alert
6. See image attached
7. Happy analyzing!

Yes. Just yes.
Providing an effortless shopping experience is a key driver to the success of any e-commerce business. E-commerce search is a big factor in this experience and when done right can provide a significant competitive advantage. An effective on-site search experience leads to higher sales and increased customer loyalty. A substandard search experience can lead to the permanent loss of a customer.

Yes. a thousand times yes. That would be my answer to the eternal "should we got there, let's check out the reviews". The place does get jam packed so try to go in off hours. Food is fresh, served fast and delicious. Nothing really exceeds 10 euros so it's a great deal. I should also mention the raspberry/basil/lime shake. It was a lot of fun and very unusual.

Great little place that serves fresh pressed carrot/apple juice (one of my all time favorites). They seem to be experts at the whole breakfast thing. That's just fantastic when you are staying in a hotel near there.

Love this place. Between the figurines, the cucumber drinks and the tacos, you are sure to spend a great time there. Edit : still the case 2 years on! The mole is excellent!

Think of this place as a fancy cafeteria setting. No frills. They come, drop off the menu, give you free green tea and you are then expected to make your selection. Ishin offers a happy hour. I was really confused by that but it's basically a way of giving an "early bird" discount on certain sets. Also, after 5pm they have a pick your nigiri offer that is absolutely awesome. The food is fresh, the service is efficient and it is centrally located. Prices are really affordable.

Lovely store, consistent with the AllSaints experience. I was very happy because a. the staff was very nice and put up with my only speaking English and b. they had every type of clothing I wanted in my size (normally all the other AllSaints stores I've been to don't carry size 10/12 much). Also, the clothing is really good. I always complain about the price because yes, the brand has a tendency to give me sticker shock...but the cuts are beautiful and the attention to detail is something I haven't found in other brands. They just get it right every time.

Great bookstore. They have two floors and a café inside. Now, with that in mind, this is the place I go to when I need an escape. I buy my travel guides from here. No particular reason except that when the entire city seems to be made of snow and you are stuck working downtown...well travel guide buying at Indigo is a great activity.
