If you build stairs occasionally, you might find this useful. I added a new "mounting type" feature to the stair calculators on mycarpentry.com. Once the results have been calculated, you can now compare the values of a "flush" mount vs. a "standard" mount by clicking a button. Check it out at:

The handrail on my deck project is now complete.  I have a little more trim work and sealing to do and the deck project will be completely done.  I will post the step-by-step article on mycarpentry.com and publish the link soon.

Check out these new plans for building a cedar chest.  This is an easy project that can be built in less than an hour.  You can build it for next to nothing if you build it from old fence boards.  http://www.mycarpentry.com/cedar-chest-plans.html

This "rustic" bench was easy to build and you can modify the dimensions to suit your needs.  This bench was made entirely from old fence boards from my back fence.  http://www.mycarpentry.com/rustic-bench-plans.html.
