In 2007, the U.S. federal government enacted legislation to make incandescent light bulbs more efficient by setting maximum wattage requirements. Governments around the world have passed measures to phase out incandescent light bulbs for general lighting in favor of more energy-efficient lighting alternatives. A compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) uses a fluorescent lamp tube which is curved or folded to fit into the space of an incandescent bulb and contains a compact electronic ballast in the base of the lamp. An LED lamp is a light-emitting diode which is assembled into a light bulb for use in lighting fixtures. Any form of energy, when not properly controlled, can result in serious danger to those who use it. When you are around electric circuits capable of delivering high power to loads, electric shock becomes a much more serious issue, and pain is the least significant result of shock. An electric generator is a device that converts mechanical energy to electrical energy for use in an external circuit. Sources of mechanical energy include steam turbines, gas turbines, water turbines, internal combustion engines and even hand cranks. Electric generators can be as large as giant machines powering the electricity grid and small enough to be portable for electric tools, construction lighting and other electrical needs when other power sources are not available. Call Rogoz Electric for all your commercial generator needs and residential electrician services!

A ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) is a device that shuts off an electric power circuit when it detects that current is flowing along an unintended path, such as through water or a person. It's there to protect people from electrical shock, so it is completely different from a fuse. A GFCI monitors the amount of current flowing from hot to neutral. If there is any imbalance, it trips the circuit. It is able to sense a mismatch as small as 4 or 5 milliamps, and it can react as quickly as one-thirtieth of a second. As soon as the GFCI senses that, it trips the circuit and cuts off the electricity. Call Rogoz Electric at 623-363-5648 for all your GFCI receptacle needs in the metro Phoenix area and surrounding communities!

The National Electrical Code is the electrical industry's most important document and the most widely adopted code in the world. The entire code is reviewed and revised based on new technology and industry needs every three years. Electrical contractors and workers use the NEC for estimating, designing and installing electrical systems. Proficiency in electrical contracting, services and safe installations are the results of staying current with the NEC requirements. Codes and standards are adopted by local municipalities in the interest of providing safety regulations for consumers.
