This is a very cute place and ironically I don't even have a dog! LOL I met up with a friend there for a drink and ended up staying for hours. It's very casual and the food and drinks are pretty good. It's a laid back type of vibe that caters to the dog lovers out there. If I had a dog I'd definitely buy a membership.

My husband and I went to Mutts this weekend, and as we walked in with our 2 dogs, we were approached by a younger female African American employee who asked if one of our dogs was a Pit Bull. We responded that we adopted him and aren't completely sure, but that to the best of our knowledge he is an American Pit Bull Terrier, which is a type of Pit Bull (there are about 5 types of "Pit Bulls" - it's like saying a dog is a "Hound" instead of a Basset or a Beagle). She seemed satisfied, and let us in, but told us that it was Mutt's policy to not to allow fully bred Pit Bulls. This infuriated us. A Pit Bull by definition is a mix of a Bull Dog and a Terrier. Our Pit Bull is the sweetest, most loving dog, more so than our Beagle, who can get territorial, completely in reverse of the perception of the two breeds. I have met more than my fair share of Chihuahuas, Doxens, and German Shepards that are aggressive and non-sociable to other people and dogs - Just because a dog is a certain breed in no way indicates the personality of the dog. It's about how the dog was raised and is treated, very similar to humans. Additionally, there were no signs posted about breed restrictions, nor is it posted on the website. We saw at least 3 other Pit Bulls in the park that day, and asked one of the owners if he had also been hassled about the breed. He said he had not, but that he had called ahead, and was only told that a dog needed to be fixed and well behaved. Each time we go to Mutts, we pay for entry fees and at least $60 in food and drinks every few weeks. If this is how you run your dog park, we will not be returning ever again

Good burgers & great place to take your pup & socialize!

Love the idea but executed poorly. I understand the fee to get in IF the attendants would do their jobs and fill the water bowls and pick up the poop. I had to continuously fill a water bowl because I was the only one filling them up for all the dogs. I also had to avoid lots of poop. The food was nothing special but they had Deep Ellum IPA on tap.

I've only been here once, and I had a HORRIBLE experience. They refused to sell (Over priced, however good and strong) alcohol to my friend on her birthday. They don't make the small dogs stay in the small dog park. There was one person working at the food stand that was horribly rude on two different run ins. I ordered a burger... and never got it. When I went up and asked, they said it wasn't ready yet and TWENTY minutes later they still didn't have it on the grill. (I ordered it at 4:05pm and left the park without it at 4:55pm. Ended up speaking to the general manager who was extremely nice and most of the staff were very nice. However the bad things ruined it. ALSO, as a side note. Dog owners who go, with poorly socialized/aggressive dogs (even the 5 pound ones) should probably stay home. Also, please don't go just to sit with your dog on a leash while you drink and eat.

Any place that would ban pit bulls who are better behaved than most any dog out there, like mine is, is an ignorant place to be! People need to realize that it is the owner--not the breed--which makes a dog aggressive or kind hearted; stop breed specific legislation, and EDUCATE yourselves before opening a dog park. One star is way too high for this place!

Awful experience! Our first time and we won't return. Where should I begin? Dog park, the employees inside are useless, I had to pick up after my dog and ended up with poop on my shoes at the end of the day cause the employees don't do their job. There was an aggressive dog and nobody did anything, we had to pull our dogs out because of that dog, we told the employees and manager and they said they couldn't do anything about it, one of my dogs ended up with a bite. Restaurant, the service is the worst I've seen, we sat there unattended for about 15 minutes, I went and find a waiter to come and clean our table and take our order and his first question, I swear to god, was "has anybody been to your table yet?", brilliant. Besides you could see other waiters walking around trying to figure out to what table did the food they were holding belong to. Food took long and was nothing special, besides the order was wrong and we needed to wait even longer to get it right, oh, the draft beer that they supposedly have 4 choices but they only had two. So, my suggestion, grab a coffee, go to your nearest dog park for free and avoid this place.

This is by far THE BEST dog park. Anywhere, Period! Ample parking. Awesome location next door to the only trolley turntable in North America. Trolley and bus accessible. Reasonable rates.$9 month. Friendly staff that calls you by name. Lots of mist fans for hot months. Tons of lawn chairs or BYO. Food is excellent. 2 60" LCD screens showing sports and or news.Clean restrooms.
