Crochet class last Monday evening! Had my table set up with extra yarn and hooks for my students, as ell as some crochet patterns (both old and new) for inspiration. Four skeins of my hand-spun displayed on the left side of the table.

Finished spinning and shipped out a 1lb Suri fleece for another farmer who raises Suri Alpaca. This particular fiber came from an animal who passed away and was very close to his owner's heart. 3 skeins of DK weight 2 ply, approx. 200 yards in total. The grower's comments:

"... thank you so much... he [the alpaca] was one of my favorites because he had the best personality and liked to give kisses."

Handspun 100% Jacob wool, fingering weight ~17WPI (wraps per inch). Cream is approx. 130 yards and cocoa is approx. 170. Will spin up the rest of this fleece for a shawl or something.

Just finished spinning half of a Suri Alpaca fleece for a lady who raises them. Her comments:

"1-11-16, received this super soft chunky 100% suri yarn spun by Amanda Schäfer from the blanket fleece of Molly."

Yarn was spun around 10 WPI, chunky with slight lock-spun effect. Suri Alpaca is an extremely soft, hypoallergenic, lustrous fibre.
