Renting families would prefer to buy: results of our housing survey
We asked Mumsnetters about their experience of renting in the UK. The vast majority (87%) said they would rather buy a home - however most of those find themselves unable to buy, because they can't raise the money needed for a deposit or meet lenders' affordability criteria. See the full survey results here.

We’re pleased to announce that the first of our (three!) politics webchats this week will be with Tristram Hunt, the Shadow Secretary of State for Education and Labour candidate for Stoke-on-Trent Central, live today at 12 noon

As Shadow Education Secretary, Tristram has been been involved in policy issues ranging from teachers’ qualifications, free schools, and partnerships between state and private schools, to vocational education and leadership in education. He also got into a spot of bother concerning nuns when on BBC Question Time recently.

Tristram is also a history lecturer at Queen Mary University London, and has published several books, as well as presenting TV programmes about the English Civil War and Isaac Newton.

Do join us on today at 12 pm or post your questions in advance.

Wrong. Parents are not keeping an eye on their kids activities properly. It is up to us to make sure that they are only seeing what we want them to see. Censoring too much does lead to some things been unavailable which can be useful. Also, some things even when censorship is in place, still get through and parents are oblivious to this cos they become complacent. Parents need to take full ownership, get to grips with how this stuff works and take responsibility for one. We manage it. We have boight our kids a Hudl tablet each and they are brilliant for locking things down and even limiting your kids time on them. As much as i don't like tescos, they dam well got this tablet spot on.

We’re pleased to announce that Nicola Sturgeon MSP, the First Minister of Scotland and leader of the SNP, will be joining us for a webchat at 1pm today

Whatever your hopes for the outcome of the election, there’s no doubt that the SNP’s surge in Scotland is one of 2015’s biggest stories of this election, with, most likely, big ramifications for UK as a whole.
So we hope you’ll join us and put your questions to Nicola at lunchtime- and if you can’t be there on the day, please post your questions in advance. http://tiny.mn/1JnmIXV

Are our children under too much pressure at school? Are their teachers pushed too hard? Watch Tristram Hunt answer some key questions from today's webchat - including the terribly important business of how he maintains such swish-filled hair...

Today marks the three-year anniversary of the brilliant Everyday Sexism Project - hoorah!... well, sort of. The fact that it needs to exist only highlights how far we still have to go in the fight to achieve gender equality - as Mumsnetters can (unfortunately) attest to. #everydaysexism
