And in the grand scheme of things five miles might not sound a lot.   Eddie Izzard for instance ran ten times that in a day this week, having run 25 marathons over the previous twenty five days.    The man is a machine.   A hero.  A legend.   Which really…

Anatomy of a desk. I saw this on Facebook today so thought I would share mine. Thanks @bureaudirect #desk #workingfromhome

The joy of working from home is you can work from anywhere.  Bed.  The garden.  The local coffee shop when you get bored.   The kitchen table.  Or a room you call your office. I am on the second office at home, with a brief spell at the kitchen table in…
You work from home, you have a desk. I saw "anatomy of a desk" shared on Facebook this morning so decided to share my own

It’s today, International Women’s Day 2016.   I am sure there will be lots  of campaigning going on today.   As there should be of course, possibly some of it being about gender equality.   As is right.  I guess.  I don’t actually want to be equal to men…

I made a bit of a cock up with one of the souvenirs I brought back from Jordan. On the blog today

In my defence I had been awake for 37 hours when I made this purchase.  And in the three days prior to that point I had only had about 14 hours sleep.  So when I saw the silver bag in the foodie shop at Duty Free in Amman airport I could be forgiven for…
No I had no idea either. Until I made a purchase of "coffee" after being awake for 36 hours which turned out to be a middle eastern spice mix called Zaatar

On the blog today is Fleet Pond for #HDYGG with @fableandfolk. We've lived on its doorstep for ten years so I thought we should go visit

When asked by a group of bloggers at Britmums how you get into travel writing, Simon Calder, Travel Editor for the Independent replied: Start in your own back yard In our “back yard” is Fleet Pond.  Just half a mile from our front door it is largest…

Lots happened this week.   One was that we got a new bread maker.  The other was that four bananas start to look passed their best.   A happy coincidence that I decided to do something about.

Don't faint. But there is an actual blog post from me. Rare these days. About the Aldershot Military Museum (not as boring as it sounds)

Seeing there was an exhibition of watercolours from a local artist on display there made Mr B pick the Aldershot Military Museum as our destination for this week’s Saturday afternoon mooch.    To say it was an exhibition was a bit of  stretch since there…
The Aldershot Military Museum is more than just an exhibition of tanks, it demonstrates what how important this town has been to us all over the years

Want to win a jet wash? I have one to give away. A brand new Karcher K5 Compact. Just tell me what you fancy cleaning first

That pic up there is our patio.  Was our patio.  Last year I was picked to be one of Karcher‘s “Super Bloggers” (I think my name must have been included on the list in some kind of clerical error) and throughout the year we were the lucky recipients of…

You wait ten years for a post on my blog about Fleet Pond and then you get two in a week. This though is really about taking time out

I need to explain my un-authorised absences over the past few weeks first of all.   For the past month I have been suffering from “cluster headaches”.   A right royal pain in the arse head which are a bit like an ice cream brain freeze, eight or ten times…

Keeping it real is my new motto and it is on the blog today

That should be the tag line of my blog:  “Keeping it real”  not the, “I am not a sodding potato” line it currently is (due to the fact people think my avatar shows a potato and not the duck that it is). Over the past few months I have found more and more…

Introduction

Mum of three, wife of one.   Blogging since April 2011 and thrilled to have been nominated for various awards and won some too.   Even more thrilled to have been a part of Team Honk that raised awareness of the good work being done in Africa by Comic Relief, and of helping to raise over £40,000 in two years for them.

Ever so slightly bonkers and most likely to be heard saying "oh yeah, I have a story about them" over a pint of Martini and lemonade.
Bragging rights
Finalist in the BiBs 2012. Winner of Social Media Category of the BiBs in 2013. And winner in the Commentary category for BiBs 2013 for work with Team Honk. First woman to be invited to a male dominated sheep grab in the desert of Saudi Arabia. And in 2014 chatted about how bloggers may be able to help end world poverty by 2030 with Richard Curtis (yes THE Richard Curtis) and how blogging is a force for good with David Cameron in Downing Street. MADs Award finalist too

Love this coffeeshop. Great tasting coffee and really friendly staff. And it is clean!! So many other coffee shops in Fleet are filthy.
