Yahoo is warning individual users that a forged cookie may have been used to access their accounts in previous years. The new warning, sent from Yahoo CISO Bob Lord, tell users the forged cookie issue allowed hackers to gain access to user accounts without passwords. The company connected the issue to the breach it reported in September. #Databreach #Cybersecurity

Hackers have stolen customer credit card information from Arby’s restaurants. The fast food chain suffered the #databreach in mid-January and more than 350,000 credit and debit cards could be at risk. An Arby's spokesperson said the chain has eliminated the malware that infected its point-of-sales systems and led to the breach. http://buff.ly/2lyp1BJ

The Email Privacy Act heads to the Senate as the U.S. House of Representatives approved the bill this week. The Email Privacy Act would update a 31-year-old data privacy law called the Electronic Communications Privacy Act. Some of the changes include requiring law enforcement to get court-ordered warrants to search emails that are more than 180 days old. http://buff.ly/2lp1P8V

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg testified in court to defend his company against claims it stole information to build the Oculus virtual reality headset. Facebook bought Oculus in 2014 for $2 billion. Evolving threats can impact the security of internet-connected devices and lead to dangerous results.
