Technician arrived right on time. He sat down first to learn about our concerns and history with your furnace and a/c which I have never encountered with another company and it was very nice. He was extremely thorough in analyzing our system and not in a hurry like most other companies. Before he left he had some suggestions which seemed appropriate but I will likely wait until spring as most involve our a/c unit. He did mention something to watch for with our furnace which I thought was good. He was not high pressure at all. One of the best technicians I've ever had and think we'll call on Doug again to service our equipment!!

We feel that MSP's services provided no value, they misled us into thinking that our furnace was unsafe, and they used shady sales tactics to back us into a corner. Thank goodness we had a home warranty, otherwise we might have fallen prey to these tactics. Read below for the details. We scheduled MSP Plumbing, Heating, and Air to come do a tune-up on our working furnace for us on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016. The tech arrived, did his tests, and proceeded to tell us our furnace heat exchanger was cracked and that he was detecting carbon monoxide emissions going from the furnace into the house. The technician, Ricky, told us that, by law, he was forced to shut down the furnace. He "red-tagged" the furnace and turned off the power and gas. Then he went over the various repair and replacement options for the furnace, ranging from $2400 to $10000. Then, he left me in a chilly house. Later that day I decided to turn the furnace back on (wise or not). When I went to start the furnace, I turned the power and gas on. Then I turned the thermostat on. The furnace didn't function. Before Ricky came, we had a functional furnace. After he left, our furnace was not functional at all. Because Ricky's visit was supposed to be a maintenance tuneup only, we then called our home warranty people. The home warranty company sent a tech out on Saturday the 3rd. The tech opened the furnace and found that the furnace had been wired with a jump-wire that would prevent the furnace from starting. The home warranty tech removed the wire and the furnace started immediately. The home warranty tech did his inspection and said that the heat exchanger was not cracked, there was no carbon monoxide emissions into the house, and that the furnace was perfectly safe to use. The tech also told us that the method used by Ricky to check carbon monoxide readings were not standard procedure. The MSP tech did not leave any report of his findings as proof. This company is a joke, and since this incident, I have heard from multiple people that the technicians from MSP have daily sales quotas they have to meet. They are more interested in selling than they are fixing anything. Their "tuneup deals" are just a way to get themselves in the door and tell you everything is wrong. My advice, stay away.

Mitch Porter at MSP Plumbing and Heating did an amazing job. I had an absolutely horrible experience trying to get my home warranty company to replace my furnace after it went out in freezing temperatures in March. Mitch spent hours on the phone with the warranty company. He went so out of his way to help me and provided amazing customer service. I am so incredibly grateful to have had him during this stressful experience. I highly recommend him. Great human.

I know that Minneapolis Saint Paul plumbing is not the cheapest company in town, but their rates are reasonable and they are upfront about pricing. Their work is unequaled and the communication between their employees and the homeowner is excellent. I'm always educated and in many instances they have shown me how to avoid future calls. I particularly liked their uses texting to inform me about upcoming appointments.

I wanted to get the work done before I wrote a review about this company. This is the most unethical company I have ever seen. It literally feels as, if they show up to your home with the sole intent to rob you legally. I needed a tub and shower valve replaced. The technician told me it would be $1600. I did some research and the valve was $25 dollars on Amazon. The pipes and other ends and outs ran about $30 to $40 dollars. Al together it cost me $150 plus labor to get it completed. I will never do business with this company in this life time. I have also taken the liberty to tell everyone I know about my experience with this companies practice.

Had MSP out for some basic service. MSP quoted $570 for simple bathroom faucet install. I refused service, went online and found another company to install. Installed perfectly and promptly for $156. Would never recommend MSP - too outrageously expensive.
