Friday’s performance featured stirring, powerful pieces by Samuel Barber, Leonard Bernstein and Sergei Prokofiev, written between 1930 and 1950, which brought many in the crowd to their feet.

Introduction

Among the finest orchestras in the country, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra is the largest cultural organization in Wisconsin. Since its inception in 1959, the orchestra has received critical acclaim for artistic excellence.
