Poor Ray is afraid of the fireworks going off in my neighborhood. He clambered up behind me on the couch and is shivering.

Why do I try to go in public? I just knocked the phone and stand off the hostess stand at the restaurant I'm at while I am waiting to be seated. It is a hard wood floor. Everyone in the nearby bar area stops and looks at me as I scramble to pick them both up off the floor. #sociallyawkward #clumsy

Took my kids out looking for Pokemon last night in the pouring rain. In the car, cause rain.

So, on one hand, I'm all about believing that the library makes a difference for kids and can help kids be better readers. On the other hand, the science nerd in me cringes a bit. All I can hear is "Selection Bias." This study is kind of like saying, "Kids who read for pleasure score better on reading tests."

Yeah, without knowing the exact methods it would be hard to say there is anything other than correlation. They would have ideally randomly selected students from both groups, tried to control for other confounding factors, then made the comparison.

Had to go to ER last night. Was having an allergic reaction to something I ate and my soft palate and uvula were swelling up so I could barely speak and couldn't sleep. Thankfully, the ER staff did not have to throw a bunch of needles in my arms when I got there. I was still getting plenty of O2, so they gave me some benadryl and Prednisone and kept an eye on me while I fought my gag reflex that was being triggered from the swelling. Didn't get much sleep.

They let me go home around 2am and I was a little loopy. Daughter drove me home because of the meds. I walked out of the ER and croaked "Look at the bug!" as a little black spider ran across the sidewalk in front of me. Daughter was like "yep. I should be the one driving." The mix of the meds and my continuing discomfort made for a mostly sleepless night. I was going to try and go in to work anyway, but my voice was still raw by the time I tried and I was so tired. So I left after about thirty minutes and got my prescription filled. My co-workers and boss were super nice about it, too.

Not entirely sure what I ate that gave me a reaction. My suspicion is that I have developed an allergy to thyme. It was in my supper and I don't eat it often. I am already bothered by lavender, and thyme has cross-reactivity with it. Pretty extreme reaction, though. I have never been so close to needing to use an epi pen.

Why do I get all the weird allergies? This is not Pokemon, I don't want to collect them all.

Yeah, I'm going to get re-tested in early august. See if any of my known allergies have gotten worse/better and if I've developed new ones (as I suspect I have.)

Weird and inappropriate product to advertise right before a video about gun violence and how easy it is to reload different weapons.

Ow. Slightly bumped my pinkie knuckle against something and I guess I broke a blood vessel. It is swollen and achy and I don't even know how I did it. Just noticed it started hurting this morning after I picked up a bit in the house.

I've had two different experiences with this store and I'm pretty happy. The first time, I brought in my son's older model laptop. They looked at it for free and when they found the problem, they let me know that although they could replace the part, it would likely break again at any time. It was a known flaw with this particular model of harddrive. I really appreciated that they looked at it for free and then didn't try to sell me something that would just break again, instead recommending that I upgrade the laptop (which they made no money on.) The second time I brought in a PS3 and the laser was not recognizing games. They ordered the part in and replaced it, but as soon as I got it home, it was the same problem. They took it back with no hassle at all, replaced the part again for no extra charges and tested it to make sure it worked. I love that there's no hidden or surprise fees and that they are straightforward about something needing replaced rather than doing a cheap fix in order to make a buck.

Best dentist I've ever had! The office is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly, careful and courteous. They explain things very well, including things that I've never had explained before. They have new equipment like digital x-rays for lower doses of radiation than standard x-rays. They do orthodontics as well and my daughter's teeth went from crooked to straight in just a year. They will work with you for a payment plan on the braces. I had a filling done there and doctor Olsen was super gentle. Great experience!

At first glance this tattoo parlor seemed warm and inviting, this experience continued throughout the whole visit. I'm glad to say that everyone was very professional and friendly, everything was properly sterilized and in proper packaging i have to say the only bad thing about this was when i almost fainted, even then i was accommodated with water and candy promptly. If you or your child wants to get a piercing i definitely recommend Paris Tattoos
