Movement Sports Clinic is proud to shine the spotlight on co-owner and physiotherapist Louise Taylor !

Louise is pleased to be back practicing in Downtown Calgary (after a short time away) and is loving treating patients at Movement Sports Clinic, located in the Calgary Tower complex .

Please share this post to help us spread the news!
Louise uses her skills and experience to help patients maximize recovery, enhance performance and prevent re-injury. Evaluating movement patterns and comprehensive assessment practices allow for complete analysis of a problem. Manual and manipulative therapy, acupuncture, dry needling, education and exercise prescription are key tools in her treatment toolbox. Louise is also certified to request imaging studies such as diagnostic ultrasound, x-rays and MRI. She is also able to refer patients to appropriate medical specialists as warranted.

As a runner, skier and triathlete, Louise has special interest and knowledge in treating injuries related to these sports. She offers a one hour Physiotherapy running evaluation which is geared towards resolving persistent running injuries. Regular assessment and treatment sessions are booked on the half hour for 30 minute one-on-one time with the patient. Louise is an alumnus of Critical Speed Racing Team and is currently training with Coach Todd at No Limits Triathlon.

Exercise #1 in our Mini Band workout for runners!

The "Clamshell"

Key Points: Mini Band is above knees. Lay on your side with knees bent to 90 degrees and hips open 45 degrees from the waist. Shoulder, hip, and ankle should be in a line. Tip body forward slightly to prevent the body from rolling backward. Lift top knee up, keeping heels together and let toes come apart. Open hips as far as you can go without rotating backward. Hold 3-5 seconds, slowly lower the top leg. This can be quite difficult, so it is fine to start without the band and build it up.
