MOSCA RISES TO THE CHALLENGE TO FUTURE PROOF BOARD24’S UNIQUE PALLET PRESS INSTALLATION REQUEST

Board24, manufacturer of corrugated packaging sheet board and boxes and part of the UK based Logson Group, has once again turned to Mosca for an additional Pallet Press for its Preston site, with a somewhat unusual requirement…

Logson Group operates across the UK as the parent brand of five businesses: Board24, Boxes and Packaging, Cases24, Jardin Corrugated and Boxshop, to offer a full-range of corrugated packaging. Board24 manufacture corrugated sheet board, which they supply palletised according to customer specification.

Due to business expansion in 2015, the site at Preston became home to a new corrugator. The greater output this brought for Board24 required palletising equipment that could keep up with the increased levels of productivity. They turned to Mosca who installed Preston’s first SoniXs strapping machine - a KCR-131 pallet strapper - that can strap up to 200 pallets per hour, along with the application of top-edge protection and labelling.

The significant investment in high quality machinery represented a positive move for Board24 and demonstrated its commitment to delivering the best quality products and service to existing and prospective customers.
Jump forward to 2017 - with increased output and yet more business growth - Board24 approached Mosca for a second Pallet Press. However, the requirement was not quite as straightforward as the first time. The new pallet press required some inventive modification in order to make it future proof...

Owing to the vast array of products and sizes that McLaren stock and distribute, they required a high quality machine that could cope with the variety and speed of products they package for distribution. Mosca were able to deliver the perfect solution...

Mosca Supports Comic Relief this Christmas with a Donation instead of sending Christmas Cards.

For the past few years, strapping machine specialist, Mosca Direct Ltd, has made a charitable donation in lieu of sending Christmas cards to customers & suppliers.

Earlier this year, Mosca Direct Ltd employees took part in a fundraising day at work for Comic Relief where everyone in the office came to work dressed as Elvis Presley. Our engineering and sales teams on the road joined in by sending in photos of them at work sporting their red noses. It was such a success that Mosca decided to continue supporting the same charity this Christmas and employees have continued the theme of ‘Comic Relief’ by adorning the company Christmas Tree with festive jokes. A spokesperson for Comic Relief commented how fantastic it is to receive such support and donations and how thankful they are for Mosca’s continued support.

In previous years, the forward thinking business has donated to Bowel Cancer UK, Samaritans Purse, the British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and the Wish upon a Star charity for children with terminal illnesses.

Gaye Tate, Managing Director at Mosca Direct Ltd, comments, “We made the decision a few years ago to make a charitable donation instead of sending paper cards, choosing a different charity to support each year. As part of our environmental policy, we have already significantly reduced the amount of paper produced and used in our business and, as part of this, it made sense that we stop sending out paper cards. Our customers and suppliers responded really well and many have since followed suit. To us, it makes more sense to donate to a charity who can put the money to much better use.”

Comic Relief have a mission to drive positive change through the power of entertainment. Money donated is put towards incredible projects both in the UK and across the world, effectively tackling inequality and making lasting change. http://www.mosca.com/en-uk/mosca-news-update/mosca-collaborates-with-menzies-distribution-at-senior-management-team-summit/

Mosca was invited to attend as a Platinum Sponsor of the event, held at the Belfry Hotel & Resort, Sutton Coldfield, in recognition of the long-standing and ongoing working partnership it has with Menzies.

On 31st October & 1st November, Mosca spent two days with Menzies Distribution at their Senior Management Team Summit. Mosca was invited to attend as a Platinum Sponsor of the event, held at the Belfry Hotel & Resort, Sutton Coldfield, in recognition of the long-standing and ongoing working partnership it has with Menzies; Mosca supplies strapping machinery, plastic strap and maintenance support to Menzies Distribution sites throughout the UK and Ireland.

The summit provided an opportunity for senior leaders across the organisation to come together and celebrate their successes, hear from motivational speakers and be empowered to initiate positive changes throughout the business. The philosophy of the event, ‘Our Business, Our Growth, Our Future’ was echoed throughout the summit and was the brainchild of Greg Michaels, Managing Director at Menzies Distribution. Mr Michaels joined Menzies in January 2017 and has been responsible for several significant business growth initiatives during his short tenure.

By attending as Platinum Sponsors, strapping specialist Mosca had a premium position display stand, demonstrating a strapping machine, and a team of representatives who were able to meet with and field queries from key individuals within Menzies. A number of members of Mosca’s team were invited to join the Menzies delegates for a gala dinner and award ceremony on the Tuesday evening, celebrating individual achievements from various areas of the distribution business.

Mosca Direct’s Sales Manager, Rob Toolen, commented on Mosca’s participation at the event, “It was a fantastic opportunity to meet with a number of key decision makers from a national business all in one location and help to celebrate the success of our joint companies. We look forward to our continued working partnership with Menzies Distribution.”

http://www.mosca.com/en-uk/mosca-news-update/gaye-tate-the-only-female-business-leader-in-the-uk-strapping-industry/

As a leader in the industry, Mosca GmbH has been complementing the market development by propelling innovation of both their products and their employees. As the only female business leader in the UK strapping industry, Mosca UK’s Gaye Tate is challenging gender role stereotypes in STEM industries.

Tate says the company’s commitment and attitude to innovation, with both its technologies and its people brings her ultimate work satisfaction: “we are operating in a full and mature market in the UK which means our success comes equally importantly from our engineering technologies and quality brand as well as our operational innovation. I hope to continue to evolve the business in an innovative manner that benefits the company ethos for years to come.”

“Our plans for the future include growth in line with eCommerce and the distribution and fulfilment industries and to remain profitable through the Brexit process. In ten years’ time we hope to have survived Brexit, mastered new markets and produced successes parallel to that of the UK in the Nordic countries we are now responsible for.”
