I travel to New York on business almost every other week; I have stayed at a number of hotels of this price and class level; this one is ideal. It's a great location for uptown and downtown appointments, yet their address--Madison at 38th-- has much more charm and light than most hotels near mid-town. (Naturally if you want pure touristic charm in a neighborhood, you might rather go to the West Village, Upper EAst Side, or another locale.) Anyway, for the business traveler, the staff is always friendly, reliable; they remember everyone. The rooms are consistently comfortable.

Room is small but nice and has everything you need. Stay above floor 12 if facing the courtyard so you have a view! The location is great for exploring the city, easy to get to rockafeller/times square/green train line/grand central by foot. Only issue we had during stay was a noisy air con and booking our car to airport an hour later than asked. Would happily stay here again

Nice hotel, central to lots of tourist spots. Staff helpful and good breakfast selection.

I really don't know how this achieved a five star status. First of all, this place doesn't even feel like a hotel, it feels like a dormitory; it's dark, dingy, and the lobby is tiny and uninviting. The included breakfast is drastically lacking in all aspects; it's your plain old continental breakfast with your boring bagels, boring fruit, and boring cereal. If I'm paying this much to stay here I would at least expect some hot items on the menu. We've traveled all around the world and this is the most meager spread we've seen. To top things off, we specifically asked that our room NOT be cleaned, hanging the sign on the door and all, so what did we find after returning that evening? Our room was indeed barged into and tidied up without our permission. I had valuables laying about along with unmentionables and this really ticked us off. So when we called to complain the front desk apologized and sent us a (small) bottle of wine to make up for it. Nice, right? WRONG!!! When we got home from our trip, Morgans had charged us $60 for that nice (small) bottle of complimentary wine. We have called on three different occasions to speak with some one in accounting and no one has returned our calls. We are now contacting our credit card company to refute the charge. So instead of reflecting on what a nice trip we had in NYC, we're haunted with cleaning up this mess that Morgans has created for us. Thanks for nothing! P.S. I just read the review that stated they had "quiet rooms"- ha! You could here a regular conversation down the hallway from inside someone's room- the walls were paper thin!!

I accidentally left my Prius, house, and work keys in the room in a desk drawer because I was in a hurry to get to my flight home. I called up about an hour after I left to inform them that I forgot me keys and to see if they could get them out of the room and ship them to me. They refused to do so and said that I was going to have to call back the next morning after the maid checked the room. After a longer chat they decided to look for the keys, put me on hold, and then informed me that I was crazy and did not leave my keys in the desk drawer or that I must have let someone else in my room who stole my keys. This is abosolutely absurd! I called back the next day after waiting patiently to see if possibly the maid had taken the keys and put them in a secure location but they said they found nothing and that they were sorry. They checked everywhere and that I must have misplaced the keys somewhere else placing the blame on me which it was my fault for leaving them there but they still should have a system in case this occurs. I said if they did not return me my keys that I would post a some negative feedback online. At that point informed me that I should speak with the manager. The manager said she would be on top of it right away and call me back when she found them. After about 20 minutes she called me back with good news that the maid had them and set them aside aparently not following policy to put the keys in the lost and found (but who knows). Conclusion: If you forget something in your room they don't have a system set up to properly protect your property and get it back to you easily. This could be fixed but probably wont because the lower guys on the staff are just doing the job with friends for fun and money they are not in the hotel business like the manager seems to be.
