If you're in Toronto check out the World Weekly Section of today's Star. I traveled straight to the source to examine the causes and effects of Venezuela's baseball boom. If you can't access the paper paper, the story hits the web Sunday at noon.

For my AmeriCanadians

Dear Fellow Democrat,

Whether you vote in a Red state or a Blue state, your vote is needed. Your vote will help to send President Obama back to Washington with a bigger majority in the popular vote as well as a victory in the Electoral College. Let's run up the vote in the Blue states and turn those Red states purple.

Do you think that it's too late to send in that ballot that's buried under stacks of mail?

Think again! It's not too late. In fact,

-In several states, your mailed ballot needs a postmark of November 5th (and can arrive after Election Day), including:
IL, IA, NY, PA, UT

-In several states, your mailed ballot needs a postmark of November 6th (and can arrive after Election Day), including:
AK, AR, CO, DC, FL, GA, IN, MA, MD, NC, ND, OH, TX, WA, WI, WV

-You can fax your ballot in several states, including:
AK, AZ, CA, CO, DE, DC, FL, HI, IL, IN, KS, LA, MA, MS, MT, NV, NJ, NC, ND, NM, OK, RI, SC, UT, WA, WV

-You can email your ballot in several states, including:
CO, DE, DC, IL, IN, KS, MA, MS, MT, NV, NJ, NM, NC, ND, SC, UT, WA, WV

So please send your ballot NOW.

Didn't get your ballot? You may still be able send a Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB) right now – go to www.VoteFromAbroad.org for more information.

Questions about voting? Contact John Chudy Democrats Abroad Regional Vice Chair for the Americas at: mayadems@yahoo.com.

Please do it now! Remember, George Bush won in 2000 by only 537 votes in a single state.

If you've already voted – thank you so much for making the difference!

Great gym for a few reasons. 1) You won't find better instruction than you'll get from Claude Patrick and DJ Dallaire. Both have competed at a high level -- Claude has fought and won several times in the UFC -- but knowing is one thing and teaching is something else. Claude and DJ are great teachers. They both know a ton but they're both constantly learning themselves, and it makes them better instructors. Work with them and you will improve. 2) Positive atmosphere. We have some outstanding martial artists in the gym, but we don't have a lot of egos or testosterone-addled tough guys spoiling for a fistfight every time they show up. If you're the type who treats every workout as an audition for the UFC, there's probably a gym for you... but Elite isn't it. Instructors here put learning first, which facilitates learning (surprise!!) and limits tough-guy posturing and intimidation -- and the injuries they cause. Bottom line... If you're looking for a gym that's going to sell you a dream (getting in shape is easy... you'll make a million bucks in the UFC) this might not be the place for you. But if you want to learn from the best, train with great people and improve your fitness and martial arts skills, then Elite is the spot. Period.
