Our teen volunteers have been working hard all summer to raise awareness and money for sea turtles! So far, they've raised $1880 and are hoping to raise more by the time summer is over. Check out what they had to say about sea turtles below:

Sea turtles need your help! Pollution from plastic bags and other trash hurts sea turtles and ocean life everywhere. Plastic trash is choking our ocean, and 80% of it comes from land.  Let’s all take the #BetterBagChallenge together and try our best to not take disposable plastic bags for an entire year. Need a little more convincing? Check out these adorable rehabilitated sea turtles we released last month with NOAA Fisheries & Houston Zoo  as they start their journey home into the ocean:

Took my granddaughter to Moody Gardens during her summer visit. Haven't been since 2003. I was very disappointed. Seems 1/2 of the Aquarium was under construction, the parts that were there were wonderful but the price was excessive for so much under construction. The Rainforest had very few animals...just very lack luster for the price. The 4D movie was great but it was way too short for the price. I felt like the Aquarium in Corpus Christi was much better.

Our first trip here was pure success! No lines, lots to do and incredible exhibits for all things wild. The seals were a crowd favorite and the big mixed fish tank was beautiful, they had about 4-5 different vantage points so you could get a good and different view without pushing anyone out of the way! The sharks were our favorite though, many types and again great views. The entire family had a great trip to this facility and we will be back the next time that we trek down to Galveston Island!

We are season pass holders so we are here frequently! The pass is a GREAT value! This is a perfect place to visit with a family of any age kids or as just a couple. That have something for everyone from 3D, 4D movies, to an Aquarium, Rainforest, Paddle Boat Tour, and a swim area to cool off in the summer. They also have a third pyramid in which they rotate different exhibits. If you visit in the holiday months they have a festival of lights along with Iceland! On the weekends during the summer bands play in the water park and they set off a nice fireworks show at 9pm! It's well worth our money to get a pass each year!

All was great UNTIL we went to go on Kernal Pattywheel boat. Departure time was 3pm, that's what the times say. We arrived at 2:53 to locked gates and workers walking away. We yelled saying we were there as they ignored us for a while eventually turning and saying "Catch the next one!" Another family had walked up as well and was also very upset. The boat was pretty empty, so it's not as if they were out of space. We paid for an all day everything ticket, and ended up not attending this one even after arriving 7minutes early to it. Ridiculous.

My family and I had a trip planned to visit Moody Garden's this weekend. Unfortunately, my daughter became ill and we realized we would have to cancel our trip. I called right after work 2 days before our visit to tell them that we could not make our reservation for Saturday. The lady I spoke to was rude and told me we would be charged the full amount. Not having time to deal with this my wife said she would then call them. She called later that evening, still 2 days prior, and was told the same thing. At this point we are unable to visit the hotel and are out $400 with no help from them. Both the manager, Mrs. Hernandez and the other women were very rude and short on the phone. They acted and spoke like debt collectors not hospitality providers. I will never visit this hotel in the future due to how we were treated and advise other people to book through a 3rd party who will give you better service if you're going to visit.

My second time going in a long stretch of time. Look up it up. You know what your in for. Amazing aquarium. Really hot, humid rain forest. Is it worth it? Absolutely! Mostly the rainforest even though it's painful hot and humid which it hate. Butterflies everywhere, birds all around you. Read all the posts, and everything. You'll love it in the end :)

Great family destination. Kids enjoyed the Discovery Pyramid the best, because it's interactive. Suprisingly fast to walkthrough for the price. Skip the Colonel Paddleboat, it's slow, boring, and you'll bake the entire time in the Texas sun. Also, unless you have really young children and a strong stomach skip the waterpark. The waterpark is geared toward toddlers, my 10yr old was bored, and the locker room was covered in hair.

Went with family because of a Groupon that gave entrance to four specified attractions. The best was the aquarium, which is on the smaller side but still a great attraction. On the negative side, the SpongeBob exhibit was under repair so it was closed. My daughter was very much looking forward to it. There were also portions of other attractions that were out of order or in need of repair. I'm glad I didn't pay their original pricing for entry. I think it's very overpriced for what you actually get.
