The hotel is situated near to fisherman's wharf and the freeway, very accessible and quiet location. Our rooms were spacious and clean. One minor annoyance is the lack of power sockets. When I asked the front desk staff if I could get an extension cord, she said there weren't any. But the staff that took over her was more helpful and provided one for our room. There's free breakfast in the breakfast room.

Breakfast was varied for a free meal. Hotel was tidy, but I wish they had a soap tray for the handsoap.

We reserved a specific room, used our credit card, got a confirmation number and drove three hours to get there. Went to check-in and was told the room was given to someone else. Clerk told us they do not make specific room requests...when in fact this is what was agreed when I made my reservation. I cancelled my reservation and demanded a letter of cancellation when the clerk on duty told me if an alternative room offered was not booked, I'd be liable. After some heated back and forth (in front of others in the lobby), and a threat to contact my credit card company they gave me a letter. Days Inn needs to review their reservation policy...either you do or do not allow specific room requests.

This place is pretty underwhelming. It's significantly dated, the continental breakfast is underwhelming, coffee barely drinkable, and the front desk was put out that we needed late checkout after 11am. The only useful thing is the location that is walkable to parts of the area.

I am a truck driver who was searching fot a hotel to stay at in Monterey, California. I called Days Inn ahead of time to ask if they have parking space for a semi truck. The receptionist said there was available space. When I arrived, July 13, he showed me a place on the street near the hotel. He said it was secure. I was given a room where the windows did not face the truck. I stayed for about 12 hours. The next day when I left the hotel, I noticed the fuel level behin to drop drastically. When I checked both tanks, I saw that the tank facing the hotel was empty and the six bolts that keep it tightly shut were unscrewed. About 100 gallons of diesel was pumped out of my truck. This had to take several people to complete to be able to do this. I can't imagine what would happen if I were to go check on it during the night but I know that it would be dangerous and I would surely get harmed. When I called Days Inn, they said they had no surveillanve cameras on that side of the hotel and that they are not responsible for this. I feel that the receptionist was involved in this theft and helped and gave the robber information. The rooms were nice and clean but for one night in this hotel, I lost $400, $100 from the room and $300 from the diesel. I will NEVER return to this hotel and I DO NOT advise other truckers to stay at this particular Days Inn in Monterey, California. On top of that, there was no air conditioning and it was very hot. Very outdated furniture. The coffee maker had a very bad stench and I refused to use it. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. Overall a very bad experience and extremely offensive.

The Days Inn has nice clean rooms and friendly staff. The breakfast was nothing to write home about though. It's about a 10 minute walk from the front. All in it was a good little motel.
