'Set yourself up for creative productive failure.'

'You will not get answers sitting in a conference room.'

- Astro Teller from Google[x] giving keynote today at #sxsw2015 about Moonshots and Reality

Fun fact I didn't know - by US laws you have to have rear view mirrors but steering wheel is optional. Also applies to self driving cars :)

Makes me wanna visit Northern Ireland!
The HBO fantasy series is drawing fans to Northern Ireland, but there is far more to tourism here than the hit show.

There are many women who have started successful careers in tech who choose to put their career on hold to dedicate more time to their children and families.

When these women think about returning to work, we want to help them lean back in to their careers with the most up-to-date skill set and technical abilities.

The Facebook Moms in Tech Sponsorship will cover the full $12,000 tuition to Hackbright Academy, a 10-week software engineering training program in San Francisco, where these women will be able to refresh their technical skills and learn entirely new ones so they’re well-equipped to rejoin the workforce.

Candidates for sponsorship should be:

- A mother
- A former tech professional
- Intending to return as a technically hands-on lead, manager, or director

* Deadline to apply for sponsorship is 11:59pm PST on Friday, May 17 for the Summer 2013 class at Hackbright Academy. Please forward widely! *

For more info and to apply, visit: http://www.hackbrightacademy.com/moms_in_tech

That's exciting!

I'd love to try it as long as I can override and I'm in the driver's seat.

Has anyone been in one of these? And would you if you got a chance?

Self-driving cars are set to roll out in the Golden State later this year. The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) adopted official regulations this week for testing driverless cars on public roads.

Google’s Eric Schmidt and Jared Cohen tackle some of the most interesting questions about our future: how will technology change privacy and security, war and intervention, diplomacy, revolution and terrorism? How will technology improve our lives? What new disruptions can we expect?

We've definitely made  progress from the 'Mad Men' days but even today gender discrimination is very real.
A man named Kim O’Grady says that letting employers know he was a male by using the honorific “Mr.” allowed him to get a job after four  months of rejections by employers who believed he was a woman. Kim O’Grady, a management consultant in Perth,...

Nice! I've seen some very in-depth interviews with Steve Jobs back in the day and they are so interesting.
