3 more cats
The problem with painting from live models when you want to paint a cat is that cats make terrible models. They have no trouble posing themselves; effortlessly, they assume all manner of provocativ...

Pretty picture
Yesterday was Monsoon Day, otherwise known as the Dia de San Juan. It's a local holiday, I guess. Maybe it rains on June 24 in other parts of Arizona, but in 11 years in Tucson, I've never known a ...

Nothing can stop me from drawing weird animals.
Another serving of strangeness out of my virtual sketchbook. A fish camouflaged as an eyeball with so many rippling little fins that it almost looks furry makes perfect sense. Also, it was fun to d...

Still tired; drew another picture.
Here's your Friday mandala. My hand is a little stiff from filling in all those circles, or I probably would have filled in twice as many circles. Also today I decorated the top of a disintegrating...

Good thing this autoupdated while I was passed out from the ordeal of trying to get home last night.
This story arc has been brewing almost since the beginning of the comic, which is why it has never happened, in 107 comics, that Dragon has been referred to with a gender pronoun.. For a while it s...

This is where my energy goes.
Wow! This design took forever! And it's complete at last. In retrospect, maybe it didn't need to be quite so complex; a lot of the detail gets lost at the resolution at which it will be viewed. It'...

More comics about gender...
Two things: first of all, it's problematic when discourse surrounding gender focuses on genitals, because obviously, there is no other situation wherein reasonable people consider it polite to spec...

This is me, not accomplishing things.
In real life I do not sleep in the middle of the bed, because I'm married, but otherwise this is pretty accurate. You probably know that feeling. You promise yourself you'll get to all the stuff yo...

Looks like I've been shoveling coal.
There seems to be a consensus among a certain group of artists that the measure of your ability can be found in the ease with which you draw realistic looking human hands. Drawing the comic has smo...

Knowing who you are...
You hear a lot of noise about the children. Think about the children. How will we explain this to the children? Children are a lot more open-minded than adults, and a lot better able to assimilate ...

Forgot to post this link last night...
It's the iron throne of mandalas. You might look cool sitting on it, but you won't feel good about it, ever. That's a point that Martin makes in the books that doesn't entirely come across in the T...

Friday flourish
Here's a few more sketchy flights of fancy from my Trickster's Hat days. There's something so soft about pencil drawings, and especially velvety about color pencil. When I was a teenager I used to ...

Story
Tagline
I am a sensitive artist.
Introduction
I was born in 1974 and have been shocking people ever since. My husband Tabor and I live in Tucson, Arizona with his two kids and our combined cats. I am a freelance writer with 9 unpublished novels and a small copywriting business.
Bragging rights
I work from home. I have a swimming pool and a hot tub. My house is worth at least twice what I owe on the mortgage. I have sold 2 short stories in the speculative fiction genre, which puts me at the pinnacle of the nerd hierarchy. Also, look at my profile pic. I have a lot to brag about.
