+Paul Irish what is the tool name that you tried to demo at the end of the talk and anyway to get access to this in Canary? Enable a flag maybe?

#DevToolsTip: Use advanced filters under Network tab like "domain:google.com" or "larger-than:150k" to filter requests from a specific domain or requests larger than 150KB respictively.

This might only work in Canary for now. For more Check out: http://bit.ly/1IjshED

The web is increasing in size mostly thanks to image. The article discusses different ways to make your footprint as small as possible and make your site loads faster.
Reduce your page size by looking under the hood of image compression.

Progressive Apps: Escaping Tabs Without Losing Our Soul. More and more web apps are getting the native advantages w/o losing on web-awesome.
It happens on the web from time to time that powerful technologies come to exist without the benefit of marketing departments or slick packaging. They linger and grow at the peripheries, becoming old-hat to a tiny group while remaining nearly invisible to everyone else. Until someone names them.

Wohoo! Can't wait to spot these in Mountain View Streets!

Notice anything new on the streets of Mountain View, California? Our latest prototype vehicles are ready for the road and a few of them are now cruising around town!

These prototype vehicles are designed from the ground up to be fully self-driving. They’re ultimately designed to work without a steering wheel or pedals, but during this phase of our project we’ll have safety drivers aboard with a removable steering wheel, accelerator pedal, and brake pedal that allow them to take over driving if needed. The prototypes’ speed is capped at a neighborhood-friendly 25mph, and they’ll drive using the same software that our existing Lexus vehicles use—the same fleet that has self-driven over 1 million miles since we started the project.

As we start to cruise around the neighborhood, we really want to hear what our neighbors think. To learn more about our project or to leave feedback on how we’re driving, please visit our website: www.google.com/selfdrivingcar.

See you on the road!

Parleys(.com) is now offline-friendly thanks to ServiceWorker! Which means you can now watch talks and courses even when you have poor or no connectivity -- awesome stuff.

A Magical Unicorn!
Introduction
I am a web developer and entrepreneur.

I grew up in Palestine, Hebron in a refugee camp called Arroub. Originally from a village called Qastina.  I moved to the US to work for Google in Mountain View as a Web Developer in March 2012.

I have been part of different communities and local groups in Palestine, such as PaleXO, GTUG, GeekMesh. Among others.

I cofounded and ran Bazinga! Ramallah before we shut it down after almost a year in operation. A Technology and Social Hub. We also did Social Media Marketing and Web and Mobile Development. While at Bazinga! I also built ReflectOn.Me a Facebook app to allow businesses and pages owners create a visual pictures of what people think of them. Although still a lot buggy and not ready for real-life usage it demonstrate how the people would use it.

I co-built Picatweet with a friend of mine +Anas Abdelrazeq - a photo sharing twitter-like web app that allow people to follow news visually. But then we've decided to shut it down due to Twitter launching a very similar experience to the one we were developing.

I built Entrepreneurs.ps portal. A portal for people to connect and find other talents and expertise. I am looking for people to collaborate on building this with me and open source it for others to build on it. (Python AppEngine Developers Ping me).

I am deeply in love with Google and believe they are doing such an amazing job.

They have variety of Middle Eastern dishes that are really well made! The King of Kabab Lamb meat is amazing! You should also try the Mansaf there! They also have nice drinks. Shish Taouk is also delicious. My favorite dish is by far the Zahra dish I usually get it with lambs cubes. Msakhan dish wasn't that good though.

Pretty great food. This was my first Dim Sum place. It was a bit overwhelming with all the food that ended up on the table but most of it was pretty good.

Food is pretty good. The seatings though is very limited and tight. Definitely try the meat pies and hummus there. Also try the Shish Taouk and Baba Ghanouj they're both delicious.

There isn't a lot of good seating specially if you're going there to work. The wifi is still the old AT&T slow internet so it's pretty useless.
