Statues and coins have all been discovered in the wreckage, thought to be Israel's most significant archaeological find in 30 years

Replica of first ship to circumnavigate globe will berth in Plymoth's Sutton Harbour
The Nao Victoria will berth in Plymouth's historic Sutton Harbour as a special guest for the Classic Boat Rally.

The impressive ship's name is associated with the greatest adventure in maritime history as she became the first vessel to successfully circumnavigate the globe.

The Spanish carrack set sail from Seville on August 10, 1519 as one of five ships in Magellan's Expedition, which aimed to find a new westbound route to reach the 'Spice Islands' – now known as Indonesia.

Divers discover Roman-era shipwreck, ancient treasures

One civilization's trash is another civilization's treasure. A ship in Israel's Caesarea Harbor was filled with bronze statues headed for recycling when it sank about 1,600 years ago. Now, thanks to a chance discovery by a pair of divers, archaeologists have salvaged a haul of statuary fragments, figurines and coins from the seafloor.
