A majority of Americans support the legalization of recreational marijuana, according to a new poll from CBS News -- and it's the highest percentage in support since the news organization began asking the question in 1979. Just in time for 4/20, t...

Only 15% said they'd use cannabis if it were to become legal, not everyone who wants it legal wants it just so they can legally use it. Far from it.

15 grams or less and expect a $125 fine if you get caught, no jail time.
Getting caught with a small amount of marijuana would result in a fine instead of arrest under a measure the Illinois House approved Thursday.

"A law to decriminalize marijuana went into effect earlier this month, paving the way for scientific studies of cannabis. Under the new policy, the drug is permitted for religious, medicinal and therapeutic uses, but possession of small amounts of marijuana is punishable by a fine."
A university in Kingston, Jamaica, planted its first legal marijuana plant on Tuesday as part of a new research program looking at the value of the drug.

NICE! There's another roadblock of legalization crumbling.
It didn't happen on 4/20, but expect Michele Leonhart to step down soon as administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. officials say.

That is kind of a dumb story, the title pretends K2 and cannabis is involved in the murder in the first place and the article loosely suggests so as well. A lot of people do a lot of bad things and have alcohol and tobacco in their systems but you don't see that making headlines. Weed is also one of the chillest things out there. A pretty pointless article really.

A little late on this one Mr. President...
"The more we treat some of these issues related to drug abuse from a public health model and not just from an incarceration model, the better off we’re going to be."

So because a kid corrected his teacher about cannabis the police were able to get a warrant to search his house. If that isn't bull shit I don't know what is. Police even detained the kid, all he did was correct his teacher. Imagine getting detained because your math teacher made a mistake and you pointed it out.
The boy was defending his mother's use of a drug that helps her deal with an awful condition.

With 55% of Californian voters supporting legaliation and many other states having cannabis legalization on the ballot for 2016, we can safely expect more change to quickly come.
At stake is a market of 39 million California residents, more than double the combined size of Colorado, Washington, Alaska and Oregon.
