Should you care? Maybe ...

"While SterlingBackcheck's investigation in this event is ongoing, it has determined an Excel file containing the names, Social Security numbers and dates of birth of certain applicants may have been stored on the laptop at the time of the theft," attorney Jennifer Coughlin wrote. "SterlingBackcheck is unaware of any actual or attempted misuse of the personally identifiable information contained in this Excel file."
A New York-based firm that conducts background checks for a quarter of the Fortune 100 companies says the names, dates of birth and Social Security numbers of as many as 100,000 people nationwide may have been stolen.

"This tricky place between tiny dreamin' and actual tiny livin' is where Getaway, a new #startup  coming out of Harvard University, wants to wedge into."

"Gamblers have concocted a scheme to repurpose the dud ducats to offset their winnings. A winner can go online and get $5,000 worth of losing lottery tickets to cover their $5,000 in gambling winnings. The lottery tickets serve as a sort of security blanket if the auditor comes calling."
Instead of paying taxes on winnings, why not buy losing lottery tickets on Craigslist and write them off? That’s what some gamblers are trying.

"If you think saying no today is hard, try eating cat food for the last 10 years of your life."

It may not sound glamorous, but incrementally ferreting out and canceling unnecessary charges on your credit card bills and transferring those amounts to savings can add up.

The $20 bill has had some facelifts over the years. But one group is working to change that face to a woman.
