Such a sweet moment, watching this family read the sign about the old Hamilton Train Depot out loud to their kids! The sign is part of our newest COMPLETED mural. Have I mentioned how much I love this little town? #HamiltonMO   #QuiltTownUSA

One of Jenny's favorite things to do is to teach! She just loves to be able to help people learn new skills and find simpler ways to get things done!
Here is Jenny at the Christmas in July Retreat doing what she loves - teaching you all! :)
What is the best tip or trick that Jenny has taught you?

This customer from Arizona came in and we just had to take a picture of her neat bag!
She said, "I saw the tote online and just had to get it! When it arrived, it was too small!"
She took matters into her own hands and came up with this genius idea! She cut up the part of the tote with the logo on it and added it to the middle of a bigger bag! So cool! We just love the creativity you all have. <3

Melissa from Kansas City came in to the shop and told us some fun things that she's done and we just had to share with you! Do you have quilting stories to share? We'd love to hear them in the comments below!
Melissa and her friend save their quilters cash points for the whole year and have a little contest to see who has the most at the end of the year. Last year, Melissa bought herself an Oliso Iron with her points! How awesome! She got a $200 iron practically for free!
She also told us that she makes so many quilts that she doesn't know what to do with them all! So she fills a jar with the names of people she loves and that have made an impact on her life and when she finishes a quilt, she draws a name and that is who she gives her next quilt to! ❤
How amazing! Thank you Melissa for coming and sharing your story with us! :)

I think we all have wanted MSQC to be our friend, I am guilty of that myself. They are not there to be our friend, they simply want our money. I have had some good experiences with them and I have had some very bad ones. I have NEVER had an order to ship the same day even if it was ordered at midnight. It always takes forever to come, and yes some even get stuck in Kansas. Don't bother to ask me for my order numbers customer service because I WILL send them to you and I don't think you will like what you see. I have had two major projects held up because of things being out of stock or the wrong item shipped. I too have been 'ignored' when it suited their agenda. Jenny is a great teacher, and I will continue to watch her, but remember America with everything she teaches us, it causes us to buy what they have to sell. My shopping at MSQC will be limited in future, if at all. My rose colored glasses are broken.

Response from the owner - in the last week
Hey Kay, I'm really sorry you have not had great experiences with us. We've been working hard on our operations side of our company (shipping time, items being in stock, etc). We have been feeling really good about how well things have been running, but it seems we've got a ways to go. I'm chatting with our customer service team to see where we can improve. I apologize again and hope we can get another shot in the future as we continue to improve. Al Doan

Until a year ago, I was new to quilting and would not have dared try it. Jenny changed all of that! I now have fabric, tools, advice and tutorials that have taken me from fraidy cat to obsessive about quilting. What can I say? Missouri Star Quilt has changed my life and my retirement activities. My husband and family love the quilts and I am a very happy person. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU ALL DO!

Update: MSQC called me back soon (within 12 hrs) after posting. They sent me a refund and are also agreeing to help me out with my quilt, which I appreciate. Great customer service - everyone makes mistakes (especially me) but it's an excellent company that can go back and fix things. Thanks for your time. While I received 6/7 of the items I ordered (the 6 items were just as I was hoping, great fabric selection, a nice thank-you handwritten on my order), I did not receive the one jelly roll I needed. They did email to tell me it was back-ordered within 4 days of ordering, and that they would send it as soon as it came in, but a whole month passed with no word. I called and left at least 2 messages, sent about 3 or 4 emails explaining I'd really appreciate an update (I was trying to make a quilt for my boyfriend, who is a submariner with the Navy and needed a rack blanket. This was supposed to be my big surprise deployment gift for him since I literally won't be hearing from him for at least 3 months - he being 20-thousand leagues under the sea and all...) Finally someone answered the phone and told me that they wouldn't be ordering any more of the jelly roll I needed. Needless to say, I wasn't able to get replacement fabric and complete the blanket in time. Big let down. But what's worse is I still haven't received the refund on the missing jelly-roll I was promised - a month and a half later. Pretty bummed, and still can't get through to a live person on the phone. Maybe I should try Morse code?

Hey Sara, sorry you had trouble, we do a pretty good job answering all the calls as they come in but we must have missed one or two on the day you called. Sorry about that. I just checked with our team and it looks like the refund did get processed and they were able to chat with you on the phone to get everything cleared up. We always try to win with our customer service, we hope you'll give us another chance!!

I recently had a quilt top machine quilted by Missouri Star Quilt Company and am very very pleased. The quilt looks beautiful, service was excellent, and the quilt was returned to me with obvious care. And the price was reasonable. I will definitely be sending my larger quilts to Missouri Star Quilt company.

My mom talked to Jenny and they have come to a resolution on the quilt. My mother is very happy. She loved talking to Jenny - she watches her videos all the time! I'm really happy that my mother is happy. My mom wanted me to edit my post and let everyone know how happy she is and that she will be making many more purchases in the future from Missouri Star Quilt Company and will be watching many more videos with the best tips and tricks for sewing quilts made by Jenny. Thanks so much Alan and Jenny for making my mom's day today!

Kim I am so sorry! I definitely appreciate the disappointment. I talked through everything with the team here and we should have set it aside until we successfully contacted you the first time. They thought they were helping, when they definitely missed the mark. We've fixed this from an operational standpoint so nothing like this happens in the future, but if there is anyway I can make this right with you, please reach out to me personally - alan@missouriquiltco.com I'm one of the owners here, Jenny's son, and would love the chance to make this right. Please let me know. Sorry again about your experience, Al Doan

My daughters and I went on a quilting retreat in January of 2015. We had a wonderful time. The local sandwich shop/bakery was wonderful. It was fun to sew and then shop for more fabric. Thanks for helping us create a great core memory.

I've been purchasing fabric for my online shop, Aspen and Oak, for about a year. I live close to Hamilton and love to visit these shops and have been blown away with the selection! The prices are competitive with the online stores I was purchasing from. I recently bought some fabric from MSQC online and the customer service is .. wow!! You guys are my new "go-to" fabric store!! Like nowhere else can you get this kind of service and selection!!

I am having an incredible time with Missouri Star Quilt Co. I NEVER order material on the internet as I love to feel it, but I have to tell you...my experience with this company is absolutely A+. I am learning from the tutorials as well. Right now, I'm making a Orange Peel Quilt (the video was awesome) that I am in love with. Thank you so much for quality material and great videos.
