Dr. Moorer is performing a TPLO, a procedure to fix a torn ACL. ACL tears are best diagnosed by an arthroscopic examination at the start of the  #surgery . In an arthroscopic examination, an  #orthopedic surgeon makes a small incision in the patient's skin and then inserts pencil-sized instruments that contain a small lens and lighting system to magnify and illuminate the structures inside the joint. Light is transmitted through fiber optics (you can see the fiber optic cable in this picture) to the end of the arthroscope that is inserted into the joint.  #Arthroscopy  is extremely accurate and non-invasive. #veterinarymedicine   #tornacl   #dogs

Dogs that have had long-standing ear infections may develop irreversible damage to the ear canal. About 50% of the dogs that have chronic ear infections have a ruptured ear drum and infection in the middle ear. A Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA) is a surgical procedure that can be performed by a board certified surgeon to help relieve the problem. The diseased ear canal is removed entirely during the TECA procedure. Prognosis is very good following surgery and will generally permanently cure the problem in that ear.

Raider is a patient of Dr. Redman, our veterinarian in our  #Dentistry   Department, who had a  #rootcanal  done. Your pet may need a root canal if it fractures one of it's  #teeth .  A root canal involves the removal of the diseased pulpal tissue. The clean and disinfected root canal is then filled with an inert material to prevent future bacterial contamination. Tooth-colored restorations are then placed to seal the crown against further infection. #DogsNeedDentistsToo   #doggylove
