Another great event is coming together at The Miraverse.  Our partner Groovebox Studios is presenting the Lauren Nicole Band on April 12th.  If you like rock music and are not camera shy, this might be right up your alley.

If you have been thinking about coming to our special Satellite Salon event at +Manifold Recording  November 3rd 3pm-7pm (+Frederic Chiu's Ying / Yang event at +Beechwood Arts ), send us an email at rsvp@miraverse.com.  There is a nominal cost to attend, half of which is a tax-deductible contribution to Beechwood Arts (a 501(c)3 organization).

A vast new library is opening.  The shelves are infinite, as is its reach.  This is an opportunity to add to its collection: world-class recordings of the world-renowned Well-Tempered Clavier.  And this is an opportunity for you to have your name added to the list of contributors.

Let's rock this kickstarter!

The +OpenGoldberg project was a huge success in 2012.  The logical 2.0 of that project is a recording of the same artist, the same piano, in the same studio, recording Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier.

This kickstarter aims to fund that, offering many great rewards along the way, including options to experience (in person)+Kimiko Ishizaka, Pianist playing a Bösendorfer concert grand at +Manifold Recording on November 3rd.  Can't make it to Pittsboro, NC?  Not a problem: you can tune in to a live HD video stream broadcast via +The Miraverse .

Let's see how quickly this project can reach its goal!  And let's see how many open source music fans we can get attending or viewing of of the many events leading up to the recording project in 2014!!

Is the The Loove the Miraverse of Brooklyn?  Or is it more like  +Manifold Recording ?

This is a great interview between two real pioneers of "open source music".  MuseOpen's #kickstarter project "Set Chopin Free" has raised more than $64,000 in 8 days...which is even more amazing when you consider that the project still has 37 days to go!  And +Robert Douglass  helped kickstart the +Open Goldberg Variations CD  project.  Their successes are making the #publicdomain richer.

These great results don't just happen.  They result from a combination of deep insight, great passion, strong partnerships, effective promotion, and flawless execution.  Check out this interview and see how it's done.  Then join the effort or create your own, if you are so inclined.

We can change the economic and creative dynamics of the music industry because we (collectively) are the music market.  Projects like this help us all to be the change we want to see in the world!

We (The Miraverse) are presenting an event November 3rd that has very limited physical seating in the recording studio (+Manifold Recording) but we will be streaming online video feeds with high-quality audio.  +Kimiko Ishizaka, Pianist will be playing selections from Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier on a Bösendorfer 280 concert grand piano.  Stay tuned and we'll have details at http://miraverse.com/.  Follow us and you'll get an invitation via Google Events.

I had a chance to talk to +Aaron Dunn about +Musopen's wildly successful +Kickstarter project to "Set #Chopin Free". The project bears many similarities with the +OpenGoldberg project, which also used +Creative Commons licensing to put works into the #publicdomain .  I think that we'll find many ways to work with Aaron in the future. Enjoy the interview!

Something magical just happened, and not only with respect to the music.  When I went to dispute (again) the ContentID claim that this performance of Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier potentially infringes the claims of some Russians, Google came back and said "This dispute cannot be processed because the VideoID does not match a disputable claim" or some such.  And for the first time, this newly posted video does not have a "Matched 3rd Party content" tag, which other videos do.

I don't know if Google has started fixing this or not, but it is a welcomed development.

If you are subscribed to our newsletter, you have already received some information about our upcoming Salon.  For those not yet subscribed...

+Frederic Chiu is hosting Yin / Yang, a Salon at +Beechwood Arts this Sunday, 3pm-7pm EST in Connecticut.  He has invited us to be a Satellite Salon, along with Satellites in New Jersey and Boston.  If you would like to attend, or would like more information, please send a private message to us via Google+ and we will share more information with you.

This is a fantastic opportunity to spend time inside the beautiful spaces of +Manifold Recording , to meet people who are similarly impulsive about exploring the arts, community, and the unknown.  And as we grow our own Salon community, there will be chances for us to be the main presenters, with other Salons joining as Satellites of our presentations.

There is a nominal cost to attend, half of which is a tax-deductible contribution to Beechwood Arts, a 501(c)3 organization.

Same question, different video:

Skerik 6tet- Williamsburg NYC

Are there other Miraverse-like environments hiding in plain sight in cities across America?  If so, we should all join forces!

A very cogent explanation of what many are seeing in the music industry.  In addition to "convenience" (which the author acknowledges people will pay for), there is also "experience" with the caveat that the experience must compete with Every Other Thing Out There (Including the Internet).

The Miraverse is a prepared environment in which those experiences can compete.
