There were many fabulous things about Miraval…the food, the Naga and Thai massages, the ropes courses, and of course the classes offered. Things that were really less than stellar…the hot stone massage was among the worst I have ever received, our water in our shower never made it above lukewarm (5 days), and the treatment by staff was so-so. When we arrived we had to wait until 3:00 to get into our room because it wasn't ready, which didn't matter to us at all. However, on our last day we asked if we could extend our checkout from 11:00am until 11:30 so we could attend activities then go back and shower. We were told NO because there were people checking into our room. We had planned on booking another trip to Miraval at the first of the year, and we were so frustrated over this we decided to book at Canyon Ranch instead.

Yet another returning customer with high hopes disappointed. Arrived to Miraval on January 1st only to find myself in the middle of a construction site in a swimming pool area with excruciating jack hammering all day long. The noise made it absolutely impossible to use the Body Mindfulness Center next door or enjoy the outdoor pools and treatment area. It took quite a bit on pushing to get some truthful information about the duration of and hours of construction works from the management. Many guests were upset to the point that a group of us wrote a letter to Steve Case. I decided to switch to Canyon Ranch - the best decision ever. There were a number of guests who escaped Miraval due to the construction noise and overall disappointment with nickel and diming, poor service, disappointing level of activities offered and obnoxious attitude. The management tried to inflate my bill in the most brazen way and kept arguing even after being caught red-handed with their number not adding up. Miraval used to be one my favourite places in the world and to see its level coming down so drastically is very disappointing.

It's expensive, but relaxing and a great way to take care of yourself. They have a strict "no tipping" policy, which is nice.

Miraval seems to be posting bait-and-swtich offers. The Cyber Monday deal was a complete joke. Their phones weren't working. Their website booking was broken. They changed the rules mid-stream and cut off a bunch of people trying to get the deal. This place has extremely poor customer service for $400+ nite resort.

Miraval is heaven on earth! I was at Miraval in October 2014 for three nights for a corporate retreat. The staff, food, spa, guides and hotel rooms all deserve five stars! Your truly treated like royalty. But the best part is you feel like you're the only person at the entire property. People are all very respectful of each others spaces and staying quite. This is not a resort for the party type or a group that wants to party all night. It's perfect for a group, couple or individual who wants to relax and take a break from life...but stills wants wine with their dinner. You will not leave the property the entire time you here. Unless you go golfing ect. All of the staff seems fairly young (mostly college age) but every single employee I passed would smile and asked if I needed anything. The food was all organic and EVERYWHERE! I literally had food in my mouth every hour. There's an amazing coffee, juice and smoothie bar right in the middle of the property that's open throughout the day where you can walk up and get anything you want. These cost are in your room cost, so you dont have to carry money anywhere! The main dinning room is only open for set hours for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For breakfast and lunch you have the option of a buffet or ordering a protein off of the menu. They always have a specialty ice tea everyday, that I could never resist. The property has a few simple rules, like no cell phone - except in your room or one courtyard. There's also no smoking allowed on the property. These two things are only to improve your spa resort experience. The great news is that they still have booze, wine and beer! I was also able to go on a guided hike, attending the boot camp and yoga classes, have an unreal spa treatment and attend one of their seminars on healthy skin! The resort calendar and daily actives are so plentiful you can be booked with activities from dusk to dawn. Also, there's a nice variety of activities you have to pay for vs. free. Honestly you can get through the whole stay without spending anything outside of your hotel/resort fee and have a great time. All of the spa facilities are open until 10pm and can be used at anytime even without having a spa treatment. I undoubtedly would recommend Miraval and have already started planning my next trip back!

Absolutely nice with a view to the backyard. If you are looking for a traditional, charming hotel we can recommend the Miraval Arizona Resort. Also the location is very good for visitors. Great service and nice staff.

Walls are thin. We were kept awake at night by music on one side & loud snoring on the other. We were given another room with the sound of a loud motor - running a fountain, I think. Staff was grumbling about management loudly enough for us to hear. It is extremely hot during the day, so rise early if you're there May-Sept, so you can enjoy being outside (like 5AM early).

Perhaps the new year is a time to work out the kinks in our lives. Miraval would be doing itself a big favor- looking inward and re-accessing it's service or lack there of. The presentation is lovely and serene on the surface. Sitting with a morning cup of coffee in the dining room and admiring the mountains against an inky blue sky should be the perfect way to start the day. Instead it's a back biting snark fest for the kitchen staff, easily over heard in the dining area. Freshly squeezed O.J. with a dash of employee angst on the side, not the most holistic way to start my day. The smoothie/expresso bar area was over whelmed with just one grumpy Batista, who could have used an extra set of hands- is this a new phenomenon, a rush for caffeine to kick start the day. A simple fix really, fixed with a simple solution of an additional morning employee. The spa services, a signature service of Miravel seems to suffer the most. The pre and post experience leaves much to be desired. Chilly reception leads to more chill factor in the ladies locker room. With temps in the low 60's I am surprised to see the spa area flower arrangements looking wilted beyond revival. It's gotta take awhile to wilt to death in a refrigerated locker room. Don't get me wrong, the presentation is nice, just don't look too closely or expect too much and you'll enjoy the experience. That relaxing massage leaves you with little opportunity to bask in the glow of soft muscles and a relaxed state of mind, as the lights are turned on immediately after the service and the message is clear-next! The quiet room is anything but. and the no cell phone policy seems to be a nice after thought, as common courtesy is not so common it seems. Seek out the good here and you will enjoy your stay, just don't look too closely or expect too much from a staff that seems to have missed the memo about gracious service being the back bone to any great spa experience.
