I recently returned from a stay at the Miraval resort. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. I had recently done a luxury all inclusive vacation in Cancun, and Miraval was by far more rewarding, better food and just the vacation I needed. To top it off - the service was personal, welcoming and warm. It feels like a bubble, you get in and you are embraced and taken care of instantly. At check-in you get a menu of programming running at the resort from 6 AM to 8 PM everyday. They free you of your luggage, give you a room key, a backpack for your essentials to carry around and a water bottle to stay hydrated. It is the most liberating check-in I have ever experienced. Everybody is a VIP. In terms of experience, they have it all and I did it all! From amazing spa treatments (mine was outside in a small cabana and I could hear the birds chirping) to excellent food overlooking the mountains (lamb with a tandoori yogurt, paella, salads, fruit and fresh juices available all day). And the bartender makes a mean mojito (cocktail or mocktail) with local ingredients that add just the splash of color your eyes need for the dessert surroundings. The classes are also amazing, different types of yoga, strength training, spinning, water aerobics, guided hiking and biking excursions. Fitness at the most basic and most advanced levels. The programming was top-notch. I expected it to be very touchy-feely, but it was interesting, data-driven, productive and sometimes even transformative. For example, I attended a few sessions on nutrition, brain health and exercising and I walked away from each of them with small changes I could immediately make in my life. Nothing extreme or new-agey, just practical things everyone should do but don't have time to process in our day to day. And the Equine experience, wow. I was surprised in what I learned about myself through that experience. What I do want to mention is the experts leading the sessions are like celebrities. Their knowledge and approach is so compelling that guests want more and lighten up when they see them walking the resort. Some make you laugh so much that many wondered if they are stand up comedians. This is an experience for anyone. Girlfriend getaways, wellness retreat, fitness (active) retreat, guys vacation, you name it, they are there. I met a group of men whose wives sent them there, a group of women with three generations of their family with them, empty nesters, several couples celebrating their anniversaries, and many solo travelers savoring every minute and making new friends.

Amazing time. Quiet. Friendly staff. The open space and relaxed atmosphere are the perfect getaway. No one judges you and everyone made me feel welcome. My boyfriend and I even made friends with another couple there which nice. The spa is beautiful and the quite room was comfortable and a great place to read. The dining was great and so were the activities offered. Getting up early to watch the sun rise while doing the Labyrinth was relaxing and peaceful! Thank you Miraval!

There were many fabulous things about Miraval…the food, the Naga and Thai massages, the ropes courses, and of course the classes offered. Things that were really less than stellar…the hot stone massage was among the worst I have ever received, our water in our shower never made it above lukewarm (5 days), and the treatment by staff was so-so. When we arrived we had to wait until 3:00 to get into our room because it wasn't ready, which didn't matter to us at all. However, on our last day we asked if we could extend our checkout from 11:00am until 11:30 so we could attend activities then go back and shower. We were told NO because there were people checking into our room. We had planned on booking another trip to Miraval at the first of the year, and we were so frustrated over this we decided to book at Canyon Ranch instead.

Miraval is heaven on earth! I was at Miraval in October 2014 for three nights for a corporate retreat. The staff, food, spa, guides and hotel rooms all deserve five stars! Your truly treated like royalty. But the best part is you feel like you're the only person at the entire property. People are all very respectful of each others spaces and staying quite. This is not a resort for the party type or a group that wants to party all night. It's perfect for a group, couple or individual who wants to relax and take a break from life...but stills wants wine with their dinner. You will not leave the property the entire time you here. Unless you go golfing ect. All of the staff seems fairly young (mostly college age) but every single employee I passed would smile and asked if I needed anything. The food was all organic and EVERYWHERE! I literally had food in my mouth every hour. There's an amazing coffee, juice and smoothie bar right in the middle of the property that's open throughout the day where you can walk up and get anything you want. These cost are in your room cost, so you dont have to carry money anywhere! The main dinning room is only open for set hours for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For breakfast and lunch you have the option of a buffet or ordering a protein off of the menu. They always have a specialty ice tea everyday, that I could never resist. The property has a few simple rules, like no cell phone - except in your room or one courtyard. There's also no smoking allowed on the property. These two things are only to improve your spa resort experience. The great news is that they still have booze, wine and beer! I was also able to go on a guided hike, attending the boot camp and yoga classes, have an unreal spa treatment and attend one of their seminars on healthy skin! The resort calendar and daily actives are so plentiful you can be booked with activities from dusk to dawn. Also, there's a nice variety of activities you have to pay for vs. free. Honestly you can get through the whole stay without spending anything outside of your hotel/resort fee and have a great time. All of the spa facilities are open until 10pm and can be used at anytime even without having a spa treatment. I undoubtedly would recommend Miraval and have already started planning my next trip back!

I was looking around EVERYWHERE and could not find anyplace close that looked as great as this place. The only thing is when you try to book using their "specials" all of the dates are not available, but choose those same dates without the coupon code and they are available. I cannot get through to anyone that works there so that is my reason for 3 stars. Hopefully we can get this fixed and I can try them out. I just cannot afford full price.

The grounds and food are wonderful. The spa treatments amazing. We have had some bumps with our room and being able to dine outside for dinner but Keith fixed our few issues and made us feel taken care of and heard. I can say that they are a luxury and tranquil resort and i will return as soon as i can...
