"We cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed. As in filling a vessel drop by drop, there is at last a drop which makes it run over; so in a series of kindnesses there is at last one which makes the heart run over." โ€“ Ray Bradbury, American author & screenwriter

Ray is so spot on, isn't he?

Well, except for one tiny detail: Sometimes we can feel friendship being formed. For example, we felt that our friendship was being formed with the makers of those rad branded cookies for this year's RITD the moment we saw the first batch of their entries.

While there can only be one official winner of the $1,000 grand prize devoted to the best branded cookie, in our hearts ALL of the branded cookies were winners.

We'll forever be thankful to those who made them for making our hearts smile. ๐Ÿ’–

And because good keeps on giving good, as a small token of our appreciation for those who made branded cookies, we'd like to give each person a $25 Amazon gift card. (No further action is required on your part โ€” the gift card will be emailed to you in the next few days.)

Now, let's announce the second $1,000 cash prize for the '17 RITD (for the best branded cookie). And the prize goes to... drum roll, pleaseโ€ฆ Shannon Dana from Clearwater, BC! Congrats! Can we get a โ€˜woot!โ€™ for Shannon?! :)

// You may recognize Shannon Dana's name, as she was officially named a superfan of RITD a few years ago. //

Thank you again for the fantabulous response to the '17 RITD, folks! ๐Ÿ™Œ

The official countdown until the next RITD has already started on the website.

You all better come out & play again next year, you hear? ๐Ÿ˜Š

Dear clients, friends, and fans,

Thank you for the fantabulous response to the '17 RITD! ๐Ÿ’

At mint mortgage, we almost daily talk about how lucky we are to be surrounded with incredible folks like you. Because working here truly feels more like hanging out with friends and family than 'meeting with clients.'

This year's Rolling in the Dough amplified that feeling for us over and over again. Every entry shared a bit of love and allowed us to be a small part of your story. For that, we are grateful to infinity & beyond.

To all those who went wayyyyy above and beyond with their creations and used their time, talents, and love with extra special branded entries and videos โ€” WOW. Just WOW! Your love moved us so much that we decided to split this announcement into two parts. The second part will be all about you so that you can get a glimpse at how much we appreciate your love & support.

Speaking of love & support, let us underline two more things we LOVED this year:

a. The awesome folks at MERIX and Optimum Mortgage who made this year's giveaway possible.

b. The friendship and camaraderie we saw in the comments during the giveaway.

The sense of community you showed in all those little moments was heartwarming. Those moments reminded us of something the poet K. Gibran once said: "In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed."

Thank you so much for refreshing our hearts over and over again. ๐Ÿ’•

Now, it's time to announce the winners of the grand prize, aka two $1,000 cash prizes. (A friendly reminder: One of those two was drawn from all eligible entries, and the other one was awarded to the best branded cookie, as determined by a jury made of the mint crew members.)

The first $1,000 cash prize (drawn from all eligible entries) goes to... drum roll, pleaseโ€ฆ Linda Baron from Etobicoke, ON! Congrats! Can we get a โ€˜woot!โ€™ for Linda?! :)

Stay tuned... the winner of the best branded cookie is coming up in the next 30 minutes.

Thereโ€™s no more logging in, no need to enter codes, etc.

Perkland 2.0 lives where you live: on social media and in your email inbox.

Every month, we'll highlight one rad gift in Perkland 2.0. There are two simple ways to get it:

a. All those who get their mortgage funded by us (mortgage renewals included) will get the rad gift of the month in Perkland.

b. The names of those who refer someone to us during that month will go into a draw for the rad gift of the month. (BTW, just by referring someone youโ€™ll get a $5 Starbucks gift card.) Send two referrals in a month & you get the gift of the month automagically. โœจ

A story about a rumour that turned out to be a truth.

Yes, you read it right.

If you ask Caitlyn and Karlee, aka the heroes of this story, they'll tell you that it all started with a rumour they heard someplace. (Online, offline... what line?)

The rumour?

That there's this company in Saskatoon where folks call themselves happiness builders. And if that alone was not intriguing enough, the word on the interwebs was that a working day there could often feel like being on the set of a sitcom like Seinfeld or Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

"Hmm," was their first reaction.

Next, Caitlyn and Karlee leaned in.

They didn't do so because they were naive. They knew that even good companies, just like good sitcoms, are likely filled with inconveniences and challenges and pains and awkwardness. That part is to be expected, but it rarely draws folks in.

The reason why Caitlyn and Karlee leaned in to hear more about this company was simple: If its DNA was anything like that of a good sitcom, then it must have the potential to turn many regular days from grey to lit.

You see, good sitcoms tend to turn our regular days from grey to lit because they are filled with great people, inspiring conversations, gentle teaching moments, and a lot of fun.

So if there's a company resembling a good sitcom even a lil' bit, the reason must be because it's filled with great people, inspiring conversations, gentle teaching moments, and a lot of fun, thought Caitlyn and Karlee.

As luck would have it, not long after first hearing about that company, Caitlyn and Karlee discovered that it had an opening.

They both took action.

And while there was only one opening, because they were both such an amazing cultural fit, the company wanted them both to join.

The company in the above story is mint mortgage, and we're beyond stoked to have Caitlyn Lungull & Karlee Willard, two hardworking, helpful, kind, intelligent, and fun people coming onboard.

Over to you: First, if you read this far down, here is a hug. (>^-^)>.

Second, please join us in welcoming Caitlyn and Karlee to our team.

Finally, please keep an eye on this space because the next adventure featuring Caitlyn & Karlee and the mint mortgage crew just might be around the corner. ๐Ÿ˜Š

"I recently purchased a house and was a bit out of date as to the mortgage process. Luckily I landed Dani Friesen from mint mortgage and she treated me like gold.

Just like the majority of home owners, I had a ton of questions and concerns. Not only did she keep me in the loop and very informed, she also was extremely quick to respond. (Even if it was just a text helping to ease my mind about the biggest purchase of my life.)

In the end I have nothing but praises to sing about mint mortgage. Time well spent." โ€”Morgan Makeiff (Via Google reviews)

"I have nothing but extremely good things to say about Sarah and Audra!

Sarah was recommended to us by one of our friends and she was terrific. She was extremely friendly and exceeded our expectations in every way. We cannot imagine working with anybody other than mint in future. She had been in touch with us right from the time we met her. She helped us find a realtor and had been helping us all along the way. She got in touch with us even when she was on vacation to find us the best interest rate. We can't thank her enough.

Audra was amazing and always kind and extremely helpful. Thanks to mint mortgage for all the help, and we absolutely recommend them!" โ€”Udhaya Kannan (Via Google reviews)
