NASA's rover Curiosity is scheduled to touch down on Mars at 1:31am EDT on Monday, 8/6 (the wee hours!). Join a gang of enthusiastic Radiolab producers and space-loving special guests, who are all staying up late to track the rover's progress.

We'll be hosting our first Google Hangout On Air, which you can watch on our brand-new +Radiolab  page, on our YouTube channel (, or right here on our Events page starting at 11:30pm EDT this Sunday (we'll post updated links here once the Hangout begins). You can also tune in at, where we're planning a live chat so you can post questions and shout-outs throughout the evening.

The online festivities will include visits from:
*Mary Roach, the author of Packing for Mars
*Astrophysicist and writer Janna Levin (author of A Madman Dreams of Turing Machines)
*Andrew Kessler, author of Martian Summer
*A collection of reporters and scientists who'll buzz in throughout the night to fill us in on different aspects of the mission.

We'll keep adding details, including more info on guests as we get closer to the event, but in the meantime, save the date!
