anyone else having issues since Sony updated the PlayMemories Mobile Android app to 5.2.1?  Terrible lag and multiple disconnects while trying to take pictures today.

Does anyone have any experience / advice for kayaking around Puerto Rico?  I have heard there are some very cool night time paddles where bio luminescent algae adds a green glow in the water.

Boil all water as found in the wild 3 minutes
before drinking it.  I put no faith in filter use.
Wash and treat burns, cuts, or impalement.
Infections get nasty quickly.  Suggest use of
a portable stove that burns gasoline as its
more common than propane, white gas, etc.
Yes, buy the appropriate metal fuel bottles
and a siphon tube for refill from parked SUV.
Canadian-made DEET is your best friend.  Ask
to use private property for camping and don't
become known as another ignorant Gringo.
Gasoline damp rag rub of scalp kills nits.

This would make an awesome hammock for paddle camping or backpacking.  I am impressed by the attention to detail and practical arrangements.  You will need to turn on english subtitles for the details.

An addition to my earlier post on our Apostle Islands Trip.  The sea caves on Devil's Island are just amazing.  Here is a video from the GoPro on the bow of my kayak.

+ml k completely agree with your assessment. I was very surprised that we were the only kayakers with dry suits. Water temperature was OK while we were out, but the wind shifted the day after we came in and dropped to 40 degrees.

Here is a video "paddle through" of the Devil's Island Sea Caves in the #ApostleIslands  Nation Park.  Thanks to Bonnie at +Bonnie Perry Paddling for teaching me the skills to make it that far out on Lake Superior, and to a strong high pressure system for keeping #LakeSuperior  mostly calm for three days.

Heading up to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore for vacation this week.  Hope to have some nice pictures to share.  Happy 4th of July to US citizens and have a great weekend for all.

It's a cold ( 9F ) and windy (20 mph) day in West Michigan so I'm starting to think about Spring.  This means the WMCKA Spring Symposium and getting back in the water.  I've attached a couple of pictures from last year.

Has anyone used #Endomondo since it added Android Wear support?  I took a 3.8 mile walk in an little over an hour and it took my Moto 360 from 56% battery down to 3%.  I assumed the phone was still doing all the heavy lifting, but obviously the 360 is doing something.

I think it's related to the display always being on.  Mine was draining approx 1% per minute.  If you can live without having the display always on and only use the watch for heart-rate or pedometer monitoring, I found that I can double the battery life by turning off the display (cover it with your hand is the easiest method since there doesn't seem to be an option to auto turn off the display in Endomondo).

A trip to John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids, MI yesterday.  Still working on my photographic skills, some of these don't seem to have the best focus.

CARS has been our go to for auto repair ever since we moved to Grandville. They are willing to explain the details and very helpful at resolving any issues. They have been kind enough to look at used cars that we were considering buying, and even helped our son to work through what repairs that his car really needed. We really trust them with our auto repair needs.

Jim has done an excellent job for us every time we have called him. We have called him three times and each experience has gone very well. He quickly diagnosed the low coolant in our air conditioner and fixed it. He found the cracked heat exchanger in our old furnace and had a new one installed in just a couple of day. His last service was to replace our old whole house humidifier with a new model that is much easier to manage. We will be using Cadena Heating and Cooling when we replace our old air conditioner in the next year or so.
