Philadelphia's healthcare industry is booming, and good user experience is at the forefront. For this month's book club, we're pairing with Prescribe Design to talk about "Design for Care: Innovating Healthcare Experience" by Peter Jones. The author will be on hand to give a short talk about his work and answer questions.

Don't have a chance to read it? No problem! Come share your experiences or just sit back and listen to the conversation. We highly encourage both UX and health professionals to attend.

Happy holidays! We're happy to announce the next UX Book Club event: Just Enough Research. We'll take a look at the insights provided in Erika Hall's book (Just Enough Research by A Book Apart).

Intuitive Company has graciously offered to sponsor and host our next event, and our wonderful friends at PhillyCHI will be joining us too. Invite your friends, pick up a copy of the book, or just bring your own experiences. There is no obligation to read the book—everyone is invited to join the discussion, whether you're an expert, new to the field, or just looking to learn more.

Don't have time to read the book? Here are some resources for you to read in five minutes or less:

• UX Research Methods and Techniques
• What is UX Research, and Why Should I Care?
• UX Without Research is Not UX
• Podcast Thing on Erika Hall

Our schedule:

• 5:45–6:30pm, Networking and socializing
• 6:30–7:00pm, Book discussion
• 7:00–8:00pm, Google Hangout with Erika Hall
• 8:00–8:15pm, Book give-aways and wrap-up

Our next event will focus on a highly requested topic: Lean UX techniques and methods. We'll be focusing on one of the most popular books on the topic, Jeff Gothelf's Lean UX: Applying Lean Principles to Improve User Experience. Jeff has graciously offer to join our Google Hangout for this event to do a short question and answer discussion about his book. We'll use this Google Hangout to help people who can't attend still participate remotely.
