After 3 years of hard work, Buffer's founders finally took a vacation! This seemingly small act would pave the way to our whole team embracing time off!

To help them disconnect and enjoy the time off, Buffer now gives every teammember an extra $1000 a year! Here is how some have spent it so far :)
What could possibly be wrong with unlimited paid vacation days? Mostly the fact that we weren't using them. Here's exactly how we're fixing it at Buffer.

These Lowa Renegade boots served me well over the last 4-5 years. It's very cool to watch them get made. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1toJoCmdhGg

What did Apollo astronauts bring back from the Moon? What was left behind? We need your help! Moon landing missions carried a variety of things for survival, research, emergencies, and safety. Detailed lists exist but need to be transcribed so that they can one day be searchable by all. Learn more and become a digital volunteer: http://s.si.edu/TranscribeApollo

Image Caption: The Apollo survival kit provided 48 hours of survival supplies for the three-man crew, if rescue was delayed. This is the first of the two rucksacks flown on Apollo 11.

I use Evernote, Wunderlist, and Field Notes for this very reason.

You need an external hard drive for your brain. Don't worry, it can be wireless, but you don't really realize how much you're using your brain as storage right now.

You're spending so much of your capacity trying to hold onto ideas. So much of your energy is spent not forgetting information and details.

The thing is, we don't need to do this! Right now, there's not a way to wirelessly transfer our knowledge to an external hard drive. Except... maybe there is.

Great food and great prices. My friend got the Red Pork and loved it but I preferred the Spicy Schnitzel. Hard to go wrong with their catch of the day too.

When I placed my order at 3 PM (for pickup at 6:45 PM), I thought that was early enough in the day for them to make sure there would be no issues with my order. But when I went to pick up my sandwiches, I was informed that they were out of meatballs (for my two 20” meatball subs) and if I was interested in getting them, it would be an hour. Waiting an hour was completely out of the question. I paid in advance for the sandwiches I ordered and it seems they either didn’t plan ahead or simply gave away the meatballs I paid for to another customer. There wasn’t even an apology for this mistake and I was just told to choose another two sandwiches. Hopefully they’ll consider making a policy that orders paid in advance should have their ingredients counted for and either set aside or kept track of so this doesn’t happen to someone else. I don’t think I’ll be returning to this location in the future nor recommending it.

Get the Mahi Mahi Po Boy and thank me later. I don't even like fish back in the states but they do it up so well here in Fiji! Friendly staff and great music too. Oh and if you have a group, sit outside at the big tree table, very cool.

Almost always busy but never so crowded that you can't find a seat. The only gripe I have is that they're often out of onions. Their hot dogs are fantastic with onions, relish, ketchup, and mustard and it's just not the same without any one of those condiments. But it's also hard to beat the $1.50 cost so I'm not really complaining.

Great staff and awesome food. My personal favorite is the Heri-Egg on Kaiser with ham but my brother prefers the pork roll. Can't go wrong either way. We've been eating these for around 20 years. This particular Heritage's is the best around too if you ask me. We drive over the bridge from Delaware quite a bit to enjoy their Heri-Egg.
