Like many busy entrepreneurs, Donnie Miller hit a wall, and it prompted him to take a six-month vacation. How did his business hold up?

Walking up a mountain to go canyoning down waterfalls in Costa Rica.  I think it is one of the most amazing things I have done in my life.

Well make sure you communicate it well to Krista, as based on my interview with her you may enjoy it too much.

    Founder, present
Provendus Group is a profit accelerator. We partner with small businesses (under $1M in current revenue, but over $200K in current revenue), and help them grow quickly, healthfully and profitably. Unlike a consulting group, we do not take a fee. Unlike an venture firm we don't take equity. Provendus simply shares in the profitability of the company, and the owner retains 100% of the equity.

Story
Tagline
Author of (not so) classic entrepreneur reads, like The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur and The Pumpkin Plan.
Introduction
If we haven't met before, let me introduce myself. My name is Mike Michalowicz.  My last name is pronounce "mi-CAL-o-witz."  My first name is pronounced "Xanadu." I know, I know, those Polish names are so weird.

I am an author of entrepreneur books.  I wrote The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur, The Pumpkin Plan and Profit First.  My mother doesn't like the titles.  She like's simple names like "Mike" that is pronounced "Xanadu."

I have built multiple companies of my own, and have taken them from start-up to selling them to investors.  People ask me if the day you sell a company is a good day.  It's not. It's a F'ing great day.

Being an entrepreneur is full of some amazing days (selling your company is one of them), there are some crappy days (selling your soul is one of them), and overwhelming amounts of hard work in between.

I believe anyone that has the dream of being an entrepreneur must pursue it. If you don't, you will live a life of "could of, should of."  That would be a shame.  So, if you have an inkling of desire, my belief is you need to go for it.

My job is to guide you.  My job is to tell you the dirty truth of entrepreneurship (hint: it ain't easy). And my job is to tell you how you can both enjoy the journey and arrive at the destination you define.

That's me. Tell me about you (we are on Google + after all).  And let's get your business kicking some ass....
Bragging rights
I wrote The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur, The Pumpkin Plan and Profit First. I love 80's hairbands, homemade cranberry relish, and watching college football (while eating homemade cranberry relish and listening to Poison). Few people know the true pronunciation of my first name (see above)

Most New Jersey pizza is great. Roma's is no exception. We order pizza's out from Roma's at least 2x a month. Sometimes we eat at their restaurant on Main Street in Boonton. Food is always exceptional. Price is fair. And the pizza's when ordering pick up are almost already ready in 15 minutes. This is my go to place when I am in Jersey. For great Pizza I also recommend the Reservoir Tavern (their pizza, when I have at the restaurant, is even better than Roma's, but the wait to get in is usually an hour). They do offer pick up, but haven't tried.

Excellent cookies. The "break and bake" are convenient to bake, and better than any alternative cookie I have tasted. Just be prepared for an over sized portion per cookie. I have only had soft chew from them (my personal favorite type). Not sure if they sell "hard" cookies.

I used to go to Nick's at the bottom of Main St., Boonton. He retired a few years back. So I started my search for a replacement. I jumped around to a few places in Boonton, but was never satisfied. The cuts were ok, and the service at all those places was lackluster. Then I found Sal's in Parsippany, on a Yelp review. They are EXCELLENT. Lou, Sal (the man himself) or Robert are all friendly, and pros at what they do. The prices are the best I have seen anywhere. I highly recommend them! Two tips: 1. Go on a Monday or Tuesday. The place is much quieter then, and the barbers will take their time with you. Much more relaxing. 2. Get the straight edge razor on the back of your neck. It is so worth the few extra bucks. Warm shaving cream, straight edge, and a nice aftershave. Perfect!
