As far as Greek villas go, I think this will do just nicely :-)

This article may change the way you respond to factually-incorrect arguments. The author nails it beautifully - but that is my opinion :-)

A quick, entertaining, and spot-on explanation of the difference between having an opinion and just plain being wrong, with bonus Dr Who references.

The author makes the astute observation that the problem often occurs when we assume a small body of knowledge is larger than it truly is.

You may think that something is "just your opinion", but often you're just wrong.

In my opinion, this article lacks factual basis and should be dismissed as rhetoric.

One of the dishes I often treat myself for lunch to at the Real Food Kitchen is their famous Falafel. Today I attempted to make my own. It differs from traditional falafel in that it is neither fried nor baked - you basically include the mixture raw:

1 can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
1 large  onion roughly chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
2 tsp dried crushed chillies
1 tsp cornflour to thicken
1 glug olive oil
1 lemon for juice
Lettuce leave and various salad ingredients
4 soft tortillas

Heat the oil and fry the onion until getting soft and finish that off with the garlic added

Throw in the spices and cornflour until fully mixed. Add water to soften the mixture

Throw in the chickpeas as use a potato masher to crush around half of them.

Ensure fully heated through and add water to get a rough and very lumpy peanut buttery consistency.

Add the juice of the lemon and season as you like.

Add lettuce leaves, salad and the mixture into soft tortillas, roll and serve.

(Serves two or one very hungry person)

Never tried to make falafel myself (hate frying stuff at home) but this looks doable and delicious :)

A weekend in a teepee with some old friends - who need a 'man kip' before going out for the evening, lol.

A wonderfully simple explanation of on of Plato's ideas. Most of us are cave-dwellers, in my experience.

Thanks +Susanne Ramharter

Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, Animated: History’s Greatest Parable Exploring the Nature of Reality | Brain Pickings

'...“Reality,” wrote Philip K. Dick, “is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away.” And yet how are we to be sure that what we observe actually is? After all, so much of what we experience as reality is the product of our remarkably flawed perception.

Some 2,400 years earlier, Plato explored this very question in his famous Allegory of the Cave — perhaps history’s most masterful figurative inquiry into the meaning of life and the nature of reality — found in Book VII of his Republic (free download; public library).

The last portion of the video shows why the cave dwellers are so scared of a liberal education.

General Help  -

An issue I have not come across before - I took a photosphere which displays as photosphere on my phone (nexus 6). However, the synced photo is a flat 2d. Previous photospheres have synced correctly but not this one.

Any suggestions from the great crew here?

- Mike

Thanks Craig - I hadn't seen any requests but should have searched first. (Although that link is not working for me.)

Those still unsure about using Inbox (by Gmail)? The Trips bundle makes the app worthwhile on its own.

I no longer have to go hunting around in my emails for flight details anymore as Inbox keeps them together automatically - along with any delay information.

Very cool indeed.

Say hello to the Google Drive plug-in for Microsoft Office!

Using the new Google Drive plug-in, you can now open Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents stored in Drive, then save any changes back to Drive - awesome!

14 traffic incidents so far and, of those, 11 were from "rear enders" - with the latest the first to cause injury. Why am I not seeing the nonsense end of the news media express outrage about this? I must have set my blocking filters just right, lol.

On another note, I wonder how many of those 11 were deliberate attempts of extorting money from Google?

Pretty much +Paul Wooding, if you hit the car in front of you it means you were too close.

A nice +Google Maps update today for Android brings with it the ability to send to device from desktop to mobile. However, the missing elephant in the room (if there is such a metaphor) is the inability to send directions. I could spend a while getting the direction adjustments just right on my desktop but then my only choice is to print them out, lol.

I have been playing around with MyMaps as you can add driving directions there and open via mobile - but only in My Maps and so cannot navigate with them, lol.

I very nearly gave up halfway through taking this as it was a very scary sheer drop either side of a tiny path onto a promontory.

I don't think the photo quite captures the drama (or my fear), unfortunately.

What happened, Miss Simone?

Like many, I came across Nina Simone later in here career with he hit My Baby Just Cares For Me. (Although, at the time I thought is was a male artist due to her baritone voice.)

This Netflix documentary covers her astonishing life and her inner turmoils - particularly her radical civil rights period and slow mental decline.

Musically, she was incredible but unfulfilled as her wish to be the first black woman concert pianist to play Carnegie Hall. She had to settle with blues and jazz as more fitting for a working woman of colour with limited means although.

Recommended viewing for fans of her work.
