The police department wrote on its Twitter feed it was considering citing the man for destruction of property - "or at least goal-tending."
Seattle police say they aren't pursuing charges against a shirtless man with a hammer who managed to get himself stuck in a basketball hoop.

"This institution right here has been around for over 240 years. I have transition in this uniform, various shades of it, under five presidents—all of it peacefully. You may have issues with the federal government. You may have issues with the administration. So be it. But this institution has been with you for over 240 years. Period." Lieutenant Colonel Mark Lastoria to the citizens of Bastrop, Texas

The U.S. military may not be using a summer exercise to institute martial law in Texas, but Governor Greg Abbott isn't taking chances.

On The Daily Show, Jon Stewart pointed out that an even bigger exercise in 2001 got nothing but support from Texas. What's changed? Oh, yeah, right.

So last night's show was better than I expected. They've done the "let's put them on the set of another TV show" before, but it actually came off funny and gave the writers lots of ops for in-jokes about not just Castle and Beckett, but about Stana and Nathan as well. BUT I hated how they stopped the whole show for the musical bit by Carly Rae whatshername. It's the next to the last episode of what may be the final season, and you think you need to insert something like this to punch up ratings? It's a little late now.

At least one user on Imgur caught took notice of the fake Baltimore photo mistake — or lie, however you want to look at it — and posted FOX13’s status along with the caption “Now I understand why people mock Fox news so much…” As the photo earned upward of 80,000 views on the site, the attention became a little too much to not notice.

Journalistic integrity might not be what we expect from them, but this Fox news affiliate's fake Baltimore riot photo goes too far.

The stupidest idea this week for protecting your hard drives, photos, whatever.
Photographer and entrepreneur Gary Fong lost his house to a devastating fire earlier this year, but he didn't lose any of his most valued possessions thank

Yeah. I generally just shove the drive into a bag of Sakrete and add water. Gotta hold the dongle up until the mix sets hard, though.

To maintain the right to be tax-exempt, however, religions must fulfill certain requirements for charitable organizations. For example, they may not "serve the private interests of any individual" and/or "the organization's purposes and activities may not be illegal or violate fundamental public policy.”

The tax-exempt status of the abusive extortion racket should be revoked once and for all.

Even though Katic has still to sign on her new contract, there is no plan to kill her character in “Castle” Season 7 final episode. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, “Castle” creator Andrew Marlowe, who has co-written the final episode, put an end to rumours about Beckett and Castle dying in “Castle” Season 7 finale. He said that they have not written a “Grey’s Anatomy” kind of scenario in the final episode. “Grey’s Anatomy” recently killed a major character, Dr Derek Shepherd. And if there is "Castle" Season 8, all the major characters are returning.

Reddit user and delightful username creator dogsandcatsandlemursohmy posted the following picture of responses to a sex-ed quiz which his sister wrote a couple years ago. Along with the post he wrote, "Two years ago today, my then 14-year-old sister got suspended for submitting these answers for her sex-ed class. I'm so proud of her."

After Fox News alarmed social media with a dramatic news report of a man being shot by police in Baltimore:
Cop: "Nobody was shot."
Fox: "How are you sure about that?"
Cop: "Because we have no shooting victim."

Over the past 15 years, his agency's budget has been slashed in half, due to Illinois' large budget gap...The state's new governor, Bruce Rauner, wants to dissolve the state's Historic Preservation Agency to save money. At the state Capitol, Pam VanAlstine is about to lobby legislators against a move that she says would make keeping the tomb open to the public even more problematic.

+Charles Lowery - You're right. I spent a year stationed in San Angelo that colored my view of TX. One fine day my boss called and asked if I'd like to go to Southeast Asia for six months and you can bet I jumped on that. Went to a few conferences at Bergstrom and confess to great affection for Austin - BBQ if nothing else - and likewise San Antonio.
