Responsive web design is the "new normal" in the web design world.  Since so many people are using their mobile devices to navigate the web, it only makes sense to cater the user's experience to whatever device they happen to be using.  Responsive web design allows the website to "respond" to the screen resolution of whatever device happens to be viewing the website.

When making business (or life) decisions, how do you decide what is worth acting on and what is not worth pursuing?

When appropriate, I use a simple "value test" to help me make decisions.  It's as simple as asking myself these three questions.

Would it:
1) solve a problem?
2) address a need?
3) improve a process?

Do you use any decision making "rules of thumb"?  If so, please share.

Not exactly a "fun" thing to think about, but I'm glad Google has automated the process of transitioning my "digital assets" to my loved ones once I'm no longer "around" to do so myself.  One less thing to worry about now. :)

One of my 2-year old twin boys pulled a table over onto his foot. We were not sure how serious it was, so I called ahead to Care Spot around 7:15pm to ask if he could be seen to have an X-Ray done. I was informed that there was a wait, but if I got him in before 8pm he could be seen. I requested that he be added to the schedule since I was leaving immediately. The receptionist confirmed that he had been added to the schedule. After quickly arranging for someone to look after my 2 other children, I arrived at Care Spot (1340 NW Broad St. Murfreesboro, TN 37129) at 7:45pm (15 minutes BEFORE posted closing hours) and the doors were locked and there was no one in sight. I knocked and knocked, but no one ever came to inform me of the situation. Since my son's injury was not life threatening, I waited around for another 30 minutes just in case someone came into the lobby so that I could perhaps get their attention. No such luck. The only people who came out of the building were not employees of Care Spot and offered no insight as to why the staff was nowhere in sight. So, I still have no idea why I was misled and wasted a trip to this clinic. It was very frustrating to say the least.

We just moved into the area from out of state. I called the Bug Man after seeing their storefront on Church street. I was very impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of their staff. Setting up an appointment was painless. Don Johnson (our bug man) came out yesterday and carefully explained the "4 Seasons" service plan I signed up for. He was very courteous and listened carefully to our trouble areas. It is obvious that the Bug Man company has a culture of outstanding customer service. Nicely done!

Our AC went out yesterday on a very warm south Florida day. The first two places I called didn't answer the phone. I found FAST of Florida on Google and gave them a call. The lady who answered my call was very polite and said they would have someone out before 5pm. Although it was a bit after 5 by the time they got here, the serviceman (Kevin F.) was very professional and knowledgeable. He narrowed down our issue quickly and identified and fixed the problem within the first 30 minutes he was here. AC fixed and house cooling again at a very reasonable $80. :)

My wife and I love this place! Authentic (and delicious) Thai food at reasonable prices. The appetizer, "Tiger Cry" (aka Tiger Tear) is awesome. The Tom Yung Kung soup is a perfect balance of hot and sour. The green curry dishes are also outstanding. My wife loves the pad woon sen with tofu. The service is always top notch and friendly.

I am completely phobic of dentists, but Dr. Faine and his staff always make me feel at ease when I visit his office. I drive all the way from South Beach to see Dr. Faine because he knows his stuff! I would recommend him to anyone... Especially if you dislike going to the dentist as much as I do.
