The line about police not being able to presume that a kid with what looks like a real gun won't do something deadly with it, only makes sense if they spent long enough on scene to make any determination that it even looked like a real gun.

It has occurred to me that a mesh network using mobile nodes with storage might be more practical than one doing real-time WiFi relaying over great distances. It's slower, sure, but throughput could be much greater.
