Things to look into when I actually take the time to write. An alternative to AutoCrit, though that application seems like it might be a worthwhile deal if I could actually get my word counts up.

Neural networks can do a lot of things. They can interpret images, understand our voices, and translate conversations. But did you know they can also paint? A recent research paper (entitled "A Neural Algorithm of Artistic Style") has kicked off a flurry of online discussion with some striking visual examples. Essentially, the paper discusses a technique…

Had to look this up just to see how it could have been done, nobody really seems to know about details on stone work including gemstone like agate, but there are a lot of ingenious hand powered lathes going back as far as 3 BC per this link at least.

Lack of lithium in early Universe may be evidence for new particle
Explaining the lack of lithium in the universe is one of the challenges facing the Big Bang. The theory predicts that for every 10 billion atoms of hydrogen that formed during the period of nucleosynthesis, 5 atoms of lithium should have formed.

But observations only reveal 2 atoms of lithium per 10 billion of hydrogen. A new theory suggests that a hypothetical particle could have hindered the formation of lithium by affecting the formation and decay of beryllium (the next heaviest element).

This has always been a good show to listen to for general information, I especially like the listener feedback.

Thought these download stats might be interesting to our loyal listeners. Our most popular episodes (100 through 174) ran from April 2010 through May 2012. For some reason, episode 80 - Listener Feedback was also particularly popular. I attribute the gradual dropoff over time to the proliferation of Linux podcasts. I was hoping that +Leo Laporte's growing interest in Linux would give us a boost in listeners. Not so far.

Anyone know what their competitors launch rate and successful mission rate had been over the last couple of years? One thing I can say for SpaceX no matter what the launch to commitment level is, they gain attention from the public and make spaceflight interesting again. None of the several years between mission paradigm we have to suffer under with NASA. I know, I know, they're Uber safe, but from a public day to day life view they (NASA) are much too pedantic and boring at times.
Monday's launch of a station supply mission would be the company's seventh in 2016.

Played in the sand after hauling down some fresh cover to our little beach. So far hardly any rain this summer so the castle has held up fairly well. Wishing I could sculpt a sea monster and see if it could make it to the fall.

Enterprise Identity Management, as fun as it sounds -- Really.
Introduction
I've worked over 18 years in corporate IT doing systems support on NetWare, Unix, and Linux platforms.  Plus 10 years serving in the US Air Force supporting NetWare, Unix, and Mainframe systems in a Communications Systems Programmer position.

Most recently I've specialized in support and maintenance of large scale Identity and Security applications to include eDirectory, Identity Manager, UserApp, as well as Access Manager.  I am very comfortable with virtually anything Identity/security related, and can work with these products on NetWare, Unix, Windows, and Linux platforms.

Dinner at the Magnolia was excellent, menu had good variety and reasonably priced for a beautiful night out. We had shrimp with snow peas rice and a spicy carribean jerk sauce. Plus grouper shrimp and linguini followed by pecan pie with cinnamon ice cream, chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Delicious dinner, perfect portions, great atmosphere, and excellent hosts. Would definitely recommend this as a place to try while in Turks and Caicos.

Located a short walk away from the park and flower gardens, this restaurant provided a pleasant atmosphere and good food at a reasonable price. We were meeting a group there and were able to have a good time talking and enjoying the meal without feeling rushed. Everything tasted great and the prices were much better than we expected for a town geared for the tourist trade. If we ever make it back to Portsmouth this will be a place to stop again,
