I had to check the calendar to make sure it wasn't April 1 - this is awesome!
Shhhhh!  You'll spook the Google! Let them start support in stealth mode so they can get more confident at talking to the humans who interact with their systems!
+Mike Blumenthal If you remember there were calls before coming from Google to fix bad listing information and that was a complete fail wasn't it. Calls from India?
I guess it was so shocking it brought your server down! Glad your title here gives enough info to get the gist of it, since I can't read the article. Good to hear though!
some of the comments:
-Mind. Blown
-Heading for the bunker as it must be the end of the world as we know it
+Jorge Cordova this is a real support system. User asks for a call back in relation to a verification issue, speaks with a human and hopefully gets problem solved. India was Google trying to clean up the index and get rid of violators.
Yes. It brought our servers down. Good news. Bad news.
People started calling the wrong number...
Thanks for patience. I am back up. Google has confirmed the product
Google also provides very limited Places support through their AdWords phone#. This could finally be a definite step in the right direction.
Wow...  one small step...
