Not a Google-related post, but a personal statement of my view on the current United States presidential race. I'll get back to Google in the next post.

- Wow, glad you liked it so much, and that it inspired such a thoughtful, passionate response! Feel free to share it if you like. :-)
My first exposure to Bill Moyers was the Power of Myth PBS series as well, in my high school Latin class (in which I also learned "Carthago delenda est!"). Recently I came across "The Language of Life", a book of conversations with American poets, which I need to get a copy of myself.
And speaking of Jimi's performance, having mentioned the Vietnam War and the American lives lost, I was so focused on the American aspect of the point I was trying to make that I neglected to point out that an order of magnitude more Vietnamese and other Southeast Asian people also died in the conflict. (Neglect which I blush to realize after you, in particular, commented. :-) Many Iraqi lives have been and continue to be lost, and perhaps if the focus remained on Afghanistan, not so many terrible losses would've been suffered there, either. Factoring non-American lives back into the equation makes all the hawkish rhetoric seem all the more irresponsible and reprehensible.Sep 20, 2012
