I'm so happy that my only real contribution to TDD culture "small, medium, large" will live outside Google.

I definitely got into more than I signed up for at DevOpsDays DC 2016.
Links to the video and slides of my "The Convergence of Wills (abridged)" talk, as well as an extra surprise.

Must be an old Stat, they haven't used roller nuts in a while. I need to dust off my guitars, the kids just don't make it easy.

My Beyond20'16 presentation went really well; here's the slides if you're interested. Tons of thanks to Tony Harper, Alan Kraft, +Bill Shelton, Carlo Costino, +Nick Brethauer, and Jackie Kazil for review and feedback.

Node.js is addictive.
I've written a Slack bot in Node.js that files GitHub issues, and a unit testing tutorial in Node.js based on the bot.

All the more reason to learn how to test the hell out of it in the first place. Debugging sucks. Testing rocks! :-P

Trilogy part the second.
In the second post in our series on how transparency, autonomy, and collaboration produce organizational culture change, we describe a few of the initiatives we’ve undertaken to increase transparency into 18F’s internal operations

I am ashamed of myself.
Sometimes, when inspiration strikes, it isn't pretty; in fact, it can be downright painful and horrid. Please don't read this post.

Preaching what I practice, as always.
I delivered a talk Monday, am halfway through the automated testing workshops, and will be live streaming another talk Thursday at noon.

Taking it easy, but still causing trouble.
I've resigned from 18F, am taking some time off, and am speaking at the Beyond20'16 conference next week.

On yet another break? I am not mad at you. Good for you--lets change the image of the GenXer. We haven't connected since you have been in DC. We should soon. I am 8 mo pregnant with #2 and once she comes, I hibernate for at least 6 mo.

The end of the trilogy.
In the third post in our series on how transparency, autonomy, and collaboration produce organizational culture change, we describe other knowledge-sharing initiatives we’re working on that we believe are also of immediate benefit to other organizations, and will maximize our impact on government IT beyond product delivery.

First of a trilogy, naturally.
The feature that distinguishes high-performing organizations across all industries is their ability to facilitate knowledge sharing across the entire organization. This is the first post in a series about the tools and processes we use at 18F to facilitate knowledges sharing.

Time to start causing trouble.
My work to improve knowledge sharing at 18F is paying off, and I aim to make thieving bastards of us all.
