The new photos.google.com web site is now live. The automatic categories appear to work mostly quite well (the "Beer" category has only beer glasses or bottles, "Mountains" photos do indeed contain either mountains or at least some rocky landscapes) with only the "Dogs" category containing a significant amount of misses (it has mostly cat photos, other than two photos from a Zombiewalk event that also include dogs).

This is just utterly impressive. Sure, there's some exposure blending involved but there's a lot of effort and skill needed to come up with so cool end results.

Photographer #JaroslavWieczorkiewicz does it again with his follow up project to the much talked about #milkwithflair campaign. Check out his new work in similar fashion inspired by superheroes!!
Photographer Jaroslav Wieczorkiewicz creates superhero portraits the likes of which you've never seen before.

My delayed processing journey through summer vacation trip 2013 photos continues. This misty view near 'S Airde Beinn was pretty gorgeous.

From the department of "cats have a very different idea of comfortable positions"; Noki rests contently on her back on the top of a bare wooden bookshelf.

Ingress (personal) year one

Exactly one year ago I stopped by for one beer between watching Manta getting capped and going home. While sipping the beer I also launched a game my ex-colleague had recommended to me and wondered about the swirling blue and green colours, the flood of activity by other players and the rapidly dropping battery charge. The phrase "and the rest is history" certainly applies here. :)

So, after coming once again from watching Manta getting her cap, I thought it would only be appropriate to come into the same bar, get a beer, reminisce some of the Ingress stuff that has happened since last May and charge the bloody battery. Let's see if there's year two :)

Unfortunately not, the beer back then was a Belgian pale ale that was not available right now. But sometimes one has to make compromises anyway :)

Noki appears to think that the universe has flipped by 90 degrees along one axis during a #caturday  .

Layers of mist-obscured landscape as seen from the top of 'S Airde Beinn at Isle of Mull. Another shot taken on a summer vacation trip in 2013.

This is indeed completely ridiculous. A fine or e.g. a period of community service would be perfectly appropriate, but potentially ending up spending years in prison for something like this doesn't make any sense.

They both have to register as "sex offenders" and he may get 15 years in prison even though no one can prove whether they were actually having sex! This is ridiculous and awful.
A jury Monday found a couple guilty of having sex on Bradenton Beach after only 15 minutes of deliberation.

Some of these Star Wars posters are really out of this world :D

My favourites are "A New Hope, Italy, 1977", both  "A New Hope, Hungary, 1979" posters and both "The Empire Strikes Back, Poland" posters.
Nothing could be more familiar than the original Star Wars poster, featuring Darth's head looming over our light saber-wielding heroes. But that poster has gone through a lot of mutations in its lifetime, as the movie journeyed across the globe. Here are some of the weirdest and most obscure Star Wars posters in existence.

A quite good Mexican restaurant, can be a bit crowded at times though.

A nice place for lunch. Can be a bit crowded at peak lunch time. As a bonus there are usually art exhibitions and other culture-related stuff around the rest of Kaapelitehdas if you're interested about arts.
